Team Performance Plan
Introduction
As a leader and manager of the newly formed lobby group, it is my responsibility to
identify the issues and problems related to recycling and ensuring management of a cleaner
and healthier environment. The main aim of the team performance plan is to achieve the
desired recycling rates and ensure that the wastes are managed properly through recycling,
reusing and collected for incineration (Allesch and Brunner 2014).
The Problem (Objective 1)
The problem here is the lack of recycling and use of plastics for food packaging along
with not using the home recycle bins. Due to lack of recycling, there has been pollution and
the wastes are not disposed properly as well, which created pollution and even harmed the
ecological balance in nature.
Solving the Problem (Objective 2)
The problem is to be solved by making sure that the wastes are collected in colour
coded bins and later used for reusing and incineration. The wastes, when disposed in a
landfill can often create bad smell and pollute the environment (Ghiani et al. 2014). This can
create land and water pollution and at the same time, harm the aquatic life and habitat present
there. The Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development proposed various
ways to recycle the wastes and even put those in proper bins so that those could be reused and
pollution is prevented. The general public should be made aware of the recycling schemes
while the waste stream diversion success is ensured through the management of kerbside,
buyback and drop off recycling programs.
Team Goals and KPI
Objective 1- To form an effective team and focus on recycling of wastes
KPI- Awareness among team members
As a leader of the lobby group, it is my responsibility to form a team and make them
accustomed with the recycling of wastes. It can ensure that people recycle everything and
even put those in the right place and time for reducing the chances of pollution.
Objective 2- To manage the wastes properly and keep the environment clean and healthy
KPI- Management of solid wastes
The lobby group must understand the importance of solid waste management, which
is considered as a social responsibility for becoming sustainable through the reduction of

KPI- Management of solid wastes
The lobby group must understand the importance of solid waste management, which
is considered as a social responsibility for becoming sustainable through the reduction of
2
wastes and preventing emissions of harmful gases and toxic materials like carbon monoxide,
nitrous oxide, sulphur oxides, etc (Allesch and Brunner 2014).
Objective 3- To use bins and transfer the wastes to landfills for incineration
KPI- Landfill and incineration
Investments must be done for ensuring that there could be enough trucks used to
transport the wastes and even manage the wastes to landfills outside the city. The staffs must
be trained for making them knowledgeable and skilled about the ways of managing the
wastes properly, furthermore ensure a cleaner and healthier environment with much ease and
efficacy (Ghiani et al. 2014).
Objective 4- To use scrunchable plastics that can be recycled
KPI- Use of reusable and recyclable plastics
The use of recyclable and reusable plastics can help in reducing the pollution level
and at the same time, facilitate the usage of eco-friendly packaging materials. The wastes will
be recycled and used for other purposes, which can also improve the wellbeing of the
environment.
Objective 5- To reduce the emissions of harmful pollutants and gases
KPI- Complying with the environmental laws
It will be effective for preventing the wastes and reduce the consumption of raw
materials. It is important to reduce the usage and consumption of energy for ensuring that
lesser pollution is created. Environment friendly practices by complying with the
environmental laws are managed to ensure that lesser amounts of wastes are generated and
the greenhouse gases emissions are reduced largely too (Allesch and Brunner 2014).
The KPI will be successful because the wastes will be managed properly and even
those will be disposed in areas where it will be incinerated and even prevent chances of
pollution. Previously, the wastes, when disposed in nearby areas, caused bad smell,
environmental pollution and damaged the ecological balance in nature. Now, with the
introduction of eco-friendly bins, recyclable plastics and waste water stream diversion, the
wastes are disposed properly, which has reduced the pollution level and maintained a healthy
ecosystem. The Key performance indicators or KPIs are chemical emissions, facility
saturation rate, compliance with water license conditions and waste management along with
pollution indicators such as emission to air, effluent and solid wastes. The rate of segregation,
waster cost per carriageway, surface runoff efficiency, waste generation per project and waste
water discharge are other key performance indicators (Ghiani et al. 2014).
Conclusion
The focus of the report was to reduce the generation of wastes and ensure recycling
and reuse of those for maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment. The wastes should be
disposed in bins and not left here and there. It must be considered that the wastes should be
3
