Introduction
Teamwork may be considered to be one of the most success-critical aspects of the
business studies as the real-world scenario demands and effective teamwork for the
purpose of attainment of pre-determined goal in optimum way (Hamlet, Irwin and
McGregor, 2018). The instant essay delves into the analysis of such a real-world
example from the context of teamwork theories. The researcher, in the beginning,
provides a brief background to the case followed by the detailed discussion of the
incident and substantiates the effectiveness of teamwork through a theoretical

Teamwork: A Real-World Case Study
The given case study revolves around a rescue operation took place in the year 2018,
in Thailand. In 2018, due to unforeseen circumstances, 12 boys, ageing 11 to 16 years,
from the Thai soccer team and their coach were trapped in a dark narrow flooded cave
in northern Thailand. Inside the cave, there were no food and no drinking water with
them. Moreover, there was insufficient oxygen. Thai military force and navy persons
started the rescue work but the Thai government admitted that they would need cave
experts and skilful divers from other countries to rescue the boys from the dark flooded
cave. In other words, it was almost impossible for the navy personnel of the country to
dive in the current-ridden water inside the dark narrow cave. Therefore, the government
urged for help and got a quick response from the different countries across the world.
Experts from different countries came together to work as a team in the given rescuer
mission. After almost 15 days of rigorous battle and struggle, all 13 persons were finally
rescued (Vejpongsa, 2018).
The event of rescue certainly showed a true team spirit and may be considered to be an
exemplary case in this regard. Experts from countries like USA, Britain, China,
Australia, Laos and Myanmar had come together to achieve a common and noble
cause. The event established a few critical aspects of teamwork theories. First of all, it
may be noted that when people from different cultural background work together
