Teamwork in health means two or more individual who interact or communicate
interdependently with same purpose, working on the way to archive goals that satisfy from the
leadership which helps in maintain stability while improve problem solving and honest
discussion (Rosen, and et.al., 2018). This report includes importance of teamwork in health and
care with suitable example.

are interact for a common purpose is called teamwork (Peduzzi and Agreli., 2018.). Working in a
team improves professional satisfaction, increase clinical outcomes and gives critical peer
support. Teamwork helps nurses and patients as it reduce the level of patient stress may
experience and positive outcomes. For managing a team its very important that leader should
have leadership quality such as humility, vision, positivity in nature, accountability, resilience,
influence and empathy. Leadership is not only about to manage people in a team while
leadership is all about motivating and inspiring people which they never belief they could (van
Diggele, and et.al., 2020). Teamwork in healthcare create employee togetherness ans decrease
nursing and medical errors which resulting in better patient satisfaction and enhance healthcare.
A good team have common purpose, mutual trust, clear understand objective, effective skills,
value members and respect between team members. All professional needs to be aware about the
benefits of good team working such as productivity, staff morale, improve performance and
patient satisfaction. An effective team in healthcare includes decision-making expertise and
responsibility towards patients care. Professionals in healthcare plays an important role in
individuals lives such as gives patients preventive medication, educate individual about cures,

providing good or better health care, if all non-clinic and clinic staff collaborate and work in a
team then it enhances patient outcomes, increase efficiency and improve patient satisfaction.
With a good team all members are required to work together so it gives efficiency in providing
information. Teamwork needed skills like leadership, critical thinking, time management,
collaboration and listening etc. (Mach, and et.al., 2021). Excellent problem solving and
management skill for example if patient health is not well and there is no one near patient they
solve problem and manage things accordingly by arranging doctor etc. if there is no
communicate and co-ordination between staff or other members of health care department then
not full fill patient satisfaction and not get the result what they want. If there is no teamwork and
communication then department not manage their activities and staff members are not
communicated in effective manner or not solve their issue then patient is not satisfaction with
services (McCorry, and Mason., 2020).
Characteristics needed healthcare professionals are had good communication skill, ability
to be flexible, they should be emotionally stable etc. Team should have defined roles, so they
know what they do and shared skill and knowledge (Peduzzi and Agreli., 2018.). If they not give
respect to other than it creates negative environment which is not good for patients health. If
services of a department is not good then it gives bas impression on department and patient are
not satisfied and in this is the important to satisfy patients. Professionals are not emotionally
stable they can not give proper treatment to patients. For example a patient who is suffering from
dementia, and have high risk of falling which is threat to staff also but staff manage that situation
in appropriate way like that person communicate with other team members and give patient
treatment (medication) then patient is under control. So it gives positive impact like how they
communication skills, problem solving, motivational skills, attention to details, emotional
stability, build a team environment, empathy etc. to succeed in this field (Schroyen, and et.al.,
2018.).
