team in an effective way. With the help of management theory they can easily increase the
productivity, collaboration and objectivity of employees. In addition to this, leaders can also
simplify the decision-making process. Some important theories are scientific management
theory, theory X and Y, contingency management theory, etc.
Theory X and Y is an appropriate for managing and motivating team members. This
theory was developed by Douglas McGregor who introduced X and Y theories. According to this
theory, manager needs to understand two different styles of management. As per the theory X,
managers assume that employees dislike their work or apathetic. In theory X, employees get
motivated if they get a tight control and supervision (Kellner, Cafferkey and Townsend, 2017).
These kinds of employees are reluctant for organisational changes and that's why they do not
encourage innovation. In the theory Y, employees are enthusiast for organisational work and
perceived their job as normal and relaxing. This kind of employees is always giving their best for
achieving organisational goals and objective. In this theory, employee does not require any
coercion or threat for performing their work as they are self control and self directional. If
employees found that job is satisfying and rewarding then it will automatically results in loyalty
and commitment for the organisation. So in this theory, managers should encourage and creative
working environment where they provide opportunities to each and every employee for their self
initiative and direction. They should provide opportunities to employees for contributing in the
organisation. This will helps in motivation and encouragement of people. This theory encourages
teamwork, participative decision making and decentralization of authority in the organisation.
It’s really helpful in harmonizing and matching the employee’s needs and wants and also
integrating with the organisational needs and wants.
After analysing the theory of management, I found that teamwork can be successful with
the use of these management theories. It is really helpful for every person as they get motivated
towards the achievement of a common goal. That's why it is crucial for increasing productivity
and reducing the hurdles or obstacles in teamwork. A theory can be helpful in building a
successful team in which every person is ready to work with each other as it motivates and
encourages collaboration in the workplace environment.

In the research, I found an important theory which should be applied in the organisation
so that company is able to increase the efficiency of employees. I learned that employees

performance and efficiency are depending on their talent, knowledge, and aptitudes. This
analysed with the help of AMO theory.
AMO theory
According to this theory, an organisation achieve success of they are effectively know the
three independent work system which shapes the characteristics of employees. This theory
explains the complex relationship between how employees are manage and their performances in
the organisation (Ability, Motivation and Opportunity theory: a formula for employee
performance?, 2019). It is the combination of motivation, ability and opportunity which assists
an organisation to measure the performances of employees. With the help of this theory, a
company can increase the ability of employees, provide motivation and opportunities to
employees that assists in contributing to the company. It affects on the performances of
employees. If all three characteristics are present in the employees then they are able to enhance
employees performances (Leijdekkers, 2017). But if these three characteristics are not present in
the employees then they are not high performance employees. In business environment, this is
necessary for every organisation that they should hire those employees who possesses these three
qualities as it determine their high performances.
This theory is also assists in increasing the performance of project (Teams and Project

In the sessions, I also got to know some barriers which are becomes obstacles in the
process of growing a business. I learned that HRM is very important for the purpose of hiring a
person in organisation. During sessions, I was the part of a group in which I have to be hire a

to understand. In organisations, it becomes very difficult to work with people as every person has
different perception and behaviour and due to this they may be face issues. This can be solved
with the help of a good HRM department as it ensures the company's success and growth. During

performance and productivity of employees. It is necessary for company that they must use
motivation strategy as the environment gets very complex and that's why they need to give some
motivation to their employees. This will helps to overcome with the complex situations. In this
case, there are many motivation theories that gives an idea to the manager that how they can
provide motivation or boost employees' morale. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is an effective
theory or tool which assist managers to boost their morale. This can be explained below.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is defined as the motivation theory in which an
organisation is trying to satisfy their employees' needs and wants so that they can motivate
towards accomplishment of organisational goals and objectives (Ryan and et.al., 2020). It
consists of five stages in which an organisation needs to satisfy the needs and wants of
employees time by time. Lower levels of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs are basic needs which is
necessary to provide by organisations. This can be explained in below points: Physiological needs: It is the first stage which is basically concerned with the basic needs
of an individual. It includes basic needs such as air, food, shelter, clothing, etc. It is
identified that if these needs are not satisfied then a person is not able to do any functions.
That's why it is the necessity of organisation in which they need to make sure that these
needs are effectively satisfied, this can be done by providing basic salary to each person
so thaw they become capable to afford these needs. Safety needs: After achieving of physiological need, a person expectation is increasing
and then they require safety and security. This is necessary for an organisation that they
should provide safety and security to each and every employee so that they can motivate
process of growing a business. I learned that HRM is very important for the purpose of hiring a
