2TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR EVERYDAY LIFE
Introduction
This paper discusses the technology that is used in our everyday life. The technology
that will be discussed in this paper is about the Internet of Thing, Big Data and Autonomous
car. All the three technologies transform the life of the people. There is information with
huge volume that is confronted with numerous difficulties needed for the investigation. Users
are empowered with the new technology that is informed, data-based decisions for the
resources that are shared. The application of IoT would change dramatically through the way
the society has a function. The advancement of Big Data content productions that are sourced
from the platforms of social media is bound with the subjective and formation of the subject.
In our life today even an autonomous car that is self-driving cars are pledged to have semi-
autonomous systems. All this thing would be discussed in the section below with more
details.
Internet of Things in our everyday life
Today IoT connect with everyday objects and gets transform for a better world. The
devices and sensors of IoT help in reducing the pollution of air. It improves the agriculture
and the food supply. Moreover, it contains and detects deadly viruses. If the smart cities are
taken, over the world’s population more than half of them lives in the cities. Most of the
cities are the great incubators of a system that is IoT-based which make the life of the urban
more attractive with safe street lighting, transportation systems that are convenient, fast and
buildings that are energy-efficient. With the health of IoT, the public health of the cities could
be improved.
The IoT is used by small organic farmers till the Cargill to reduce the water and
fertilisers consumption. It cut the waste and quality is being improved or yield the products.
When researched in the paper of Food and Agriculture Organization for the United Nations,

there were around one third of the food get lost which the human consumes every year, or it
gets wasted in the supply chain. However, with IoT, the loss of crop can be minimised, and
the productivity increases.
There was huge progress in fighting with poverty, illiteracy and disease. In the
healthcare industry, the Internet of Things helps the doctor in transforming and gain access to
the data of the patients in a faster pace. Devices such as an Internet-connected sensor,
wearable track for the heart rate of the patients, blood pressure or pulse are compact,
affordable and accurate. For the healthcare industry, wearable devices are the most promising
IoT applications. With this technology, doctors and medical professionals monitor the
independent patients’ wellbeing. The robotics assistants or sensors alert the caretaker to give
the patients medicine or not to leave the bedroom.
Big Data in our everyday life
In the digital world, Big Data has a big impact on our lives. The technology of Big
Data is used in everyday life for both professionals and private life of an individual. Big Data
can analyse and collect data. The main idea of Big Data is leaving a digital footprint online. It
can track the ever-expanding data through which we could understand the way the world gets
to transform. The Big Data integration cannot be avoided in our life that we live every day.
The influence of Big Data can be seen in the shop, work and exercise.
Today Big Data in the companies use for tracking the browsing habits, experience the
ad-clicking, and media posts. Many smartphones and devices can track and monitor the
progress with a healthier lifestyle. The devices can track the physical fitness and provide with
applications that have identified the chronic disorders such as heart diseases, Parkinson’s and
diabetes. There are other smartphones and wearable devices with some physical activity that
are recorded and transferred with accurate and reliable data.

In most of the health industry, there are problems in accessing the data required that
are needed to treat people. Previously, data are a store with historical data that are filed in the
manual paper, but now data are stored electronically. In most of the countries, there is no
health data. However, the researchers and the pharmaceutical companies work hard by
spending years in sorting, collecting and aggregating data digitally.
Autonomous Car in our everyday life
In our life today autonomous car that is self-driving cars are pledged to have semi-
autonomous systems and will be available by the year 2020. Many of the experts have
depicted that in few more years the autonomous cars bring a lot more changes. As per the
World Health Organization, it was found that around 1.24 million people that are in
worldwide die in collisions almost every year and by 2030 it is expected to skyrocket to 2.2
million. There are around 33,000 people in US alone who died in the traffic every year.
The driverless cars have the potential to reduce the accidental cases to some extent
with which it can save potentially the lives of millions of people. In the study from the Eno
Center for Transportation has found that, if 90 % American cars on the roads are autonomous
than the accident that was of 6 million in a year would fall to 1.3 million and the death would
be from 33,000 and reduce to 11,300. During the year 2015, it was seen that the US average
commuter spent 50 hours stuck in traffic. This was studied in the INTRIX 2015 Traffic
Scorecard. With this, it could be understood that the Americans spent 8 billion hours in the
traffic.
For saving a life, the autonomous cars can help in saving the planet. The autonomous
vehicles are usually built to optimise acceleration, a variation of speed and braking
efficiency. This help in increasing the fuel efficiency and reduces the emissions of carbon.
With the adoption of the driverless fleet, there is no need for a search of parking space as the

drop off will always be available as per the desired location. A person if opting for an own
autonomous vehicle does not need to park as it will automatically locate wherever space is
and park by itself. The impact of it is mostly on the cities. For people spending time in traffic
seems to be a waste of time. However, with the new invention of the Autonomous vehicle, it
has enabled the driver to spend their time in doing something else.
In fact, the ownership of the vehicle has declined 43% in the US. This has happened
when adopting the autonomous cars. It is the most cost-effective to use the shared fleet car.
Autonomous cars also mean gain in productivity that is combined with autonomous vehicles
which have fuel efficiency and also save from avoidance of an accident. With the
combination of gain in productivity autonomous car also enable older adults to be mobile. It
also empowers disabilities, unlicensed and for the one who doesn’t own a car for travelling.
Conclusion
Thus, through this, it could be easily understood that Internet of Things helps farmers,
cities and healthcare to improve their life. No matter whether the users live in a remote farm
or crowded city. The system has enabled smart solutions which cover the diverse technology
that include the communications, sensing, computing, networking, intelligent control
technologies and information processing.
In the case of Big Data, it is very much necessary to analyse the data that are of large
volumes as it will create business intelligence. It incorporates the difficulties that come with
the issues of scale, structure absence, and heterogeneity, a blunder in taking the care,
provenance, representation, security and convenience.
Also, with the use of Autonomous cars, the crashes of the car mostly reduce which
also dramatically reduce the congestion of the traffic. Therefore, this shows the power of

technology help in empowering the people to be more independent with their self-driving
cars.
