OVERVIEW
Drones have advanced the art of photography as well as videography to levels or heights that are
fantasying giving the photographers, casual hobbyists as well as videographers a world of
endless possibilities. Sometimes back, a camera alongside a roll of film were all that was needed
to come up with beautiful images or photos making things very simple at that time. Of late,
photographers have had an avalanche of instruments from which to make a choice including
DSLR cameras, mirror less camera, smartphones as well as camera drone that has served to add
on to the quality as part of the latest technology in this field (Adamoe et al., 2017). Drones have
completely changed the world. At a given time, drones were an attractive hobby for those who
had extra money to spend. Nevertheless, these amazing and flying contraptions have taken to the
next level the art of videography and photography to extremely new heights. This they have been
able to achieve by generating a wide range of possibilities for those in the field of videography
and photography.
Not all in exhausted in what can be achieved through the use of drones in the field of
videography and photography despite the tremendous developments. Just as has been noted,
there is still provided a significant range of possibilities that can be attained with focus on
enhancing the quality of the output even further (Burton, 2017). This would go along with
technological advancement of the currently existing drones and improvements made based on
what is felt to be a component of the system that is not yet done to perfection.
The project is about coming up with a drone that is able to carry a DLSR camera to aid in
improve of the quality of the captions or recordings as opposed to the conventional GoPro

cameras that are currently available. The project is important as it would see an improvement in
the quality in the field of photography with the use of drones. This will in turn result in better
results for any works carried out using drones having these cameras attached to them.
PROBLEM
The project aims at accomplishing a better performing drone for recreational as well as
photography purposes with the introduction of a higher quality camera that comes with a wide
range of quality as compared to the existing cameras. The product is a device i.e. drone with
cameras installed that are of better quality (Campbell et al., 2018). The focus of the project are to
ensure that the drone is flying and come up with a camera whose views can be adjusted to
enable taking pictures in various dimensions, angles and perspectives in a matter that is most
convenient. The camera control system will have a series of features and applications that will
see an improvement in the quality of the output when the drone is in operation.
An improvement in quality comes with better performance and hence increased satisfaction of
the user of the product or service. There is not better experience for photographers,
videographers as well as hobbyists’ photographers, videographers as well as hobbyists than the
experience of managing to get a wide range of high quality photographs of an object of interest.
The project is aimed at being beneficial to photographers, videographers as well as hobbyists that
love recreation in a number of ways with reference to the prevailing disadvantages of existing
cameras including GoPro cameras. One of the things that hobbyists find most entertaining is
taking photographs and videos are the ability to do the common thing in an uncommon way. This
project will allow photographers to take shots from a greater and even higher perspective thereby
allowing a transformation of plain old images to something that is actually spectacular instantly.

The camera that will be installed in this project will be one that is able to swivel and rotate
enabling the operator to make shots of photos as well as videos from every angle of choice. This
is categorically of importance to photographers since it will offer them more freedom in the
creation of perfect photos (Chan et al., 2017). It will form one of the most appealing aspects of
hobby, videography and photography by offering an opportunity of taking photos of the subjects
from all locations as well as angles without the photographer having to move even a single inch
from the position of capture.
Specifically to those who use drones in taking photographs for hobbies, this project will serve to
enhance the fun and leisure aspect of their photography that they may find enjoyable in their
spare time. As long as they will be able to identify a space where they will be able to fly their
drones legally, this project will make their experience one of the most interesting hobbies
offering a relaxing as well as rewarding way to pass their leisure time.
Among the shortcomings of the conventional cameras include the camera does not have a
learning curve when one is attempting to use the camera for the first time. This gives the user’s
hard time figuring out which way to go first to ensure the device is not mishandled out of
ignorance (Wojciechowska et al., 2019). The cameras still, do not have easy settings for
navigating which might likely result in challenges for the user. One of the major challenges of
GoPro cameras that the project will solve with the built camera is the lack of control over zoom
that might result in missing of shots as it is not possible to get closer to the object.
GoPro cameras have been found to be quite unresponsive when in use thereby deteriorating the
experience of the photographer (D’Arcy et al., 2018). This is due to the fact that the shutter of
these cameras tend to be mechanically spongy which is by done to aid in avoiding as well as
