INTRODUCTION
The technology has shaped the business into a new type wherein working has become so
easy. It makes the business practices and its operations easy like collecting, recording and storing
the data and information in the quicker an easy manner. Collaborations his an important part of
business so with the help of technology, the interactions and collaborations is made easy. The
ventures with deploy the new advancements of the technology into their corporations so that they
can bring the innovative ideas and turn them into the reality so that there is customer satisfaction.
It helps in keeping the information confidential and safe so that it is accessed to the unauthorized
third party (Lai and Bower, 2019). Arden University is chosen for this report. It will cover the
concept, role and characteristics of Big data, IT security and data privacy measures, provisions of
GDPR and the cellular network together with its advantages to the business.

Big Data, its characteristics and role in the Arden University.
The big data is a combination or group of information which covers the exponentially
grown numbers that are maintained over the period of time. Its size is larger and it helps in
supporting the management of complex information and data by use of various tools and
techniques that can ensure efficient and effective working. It comprises of generally three kinds
such as structured, unstructured and semi structured. It supports the management in taking
effective decisions for the corporation and also contributes in maintenance of new opportunities
so that the firm can get the advancement. There is a big role of big data in collecting, recording
and storing the information (Keser and Semerci, 2019). Arden University makes use of big data
in order to keep all its data and information in a confidential manner. It also helps the Ardn
University in protecting its information and offers the access for the data and information which
is related to students and the staff.
6Vs of the big data
This tool consists of six characteristics that are also known as 6Vs that is being discussed
below-

 Velocity- The big data has a purpose of analyzing the high speed processor with the eight
seasons that is quickly taken so that it can generate the data with the increased frequency
in respect of health and infrastructure.
 Veracity- It offers quality information and data which becomes the source of unreliable
information and the uncontrollable environment.
 Variability- It provides that the essential health effect and evolution of the disease and
illness is also included in this, these types of data helps in maintenance of the information
which relates to seasonal health issues.
 Variety- It states the sources of data that are in the form of the unstructured big data so
that the heterogeneous taxonomies an frequency is maintained.
 Value- It states about the longitudinal studies regarding the information and data that are
relevant so that the information or data which is collected is accurate.
 Volume- It supports in monitoring the high advancement of technology and its important
sign (Yang and et. al., 2017).
Role of Big data
It is generally used in such industries like banking, education, insurance and
governmental areas. Arden University also uses this so that it can keep the track of all data and
information like record of the students who are already enrolled and who are new in the
university so that it can be maintained effectively and on time. The role of Big data in the Arden
University is illustrated below-
 Administration department- This unit is entrusted with the task to maintain the record of
the students and by using the big data in this unit, it maintains the proper records of each
of the student like personal details, past qualifications, etc.
 Examination department- This unit maintains the performance record of every student
for the academic year. It uses the big data so that it can maintain the record of each
student regarding its score, performance and education (Wang and Lu, 2019).
