INTRODUCTION
Business is defined as the enterprise and entity which is engaged in various activities such as
commercial, professional and industrial activities that are formed to earn profit as well as some
organisations are formed for non-profit like charitable or social cause. In organisational
activities, technological aspects that help organisation to run business activities in effective
manner. Organisational technologies are referred as the developed process that is used to alter,
refine as well as create new products and services that are delivered by the organisation. there are
various technologies includes such as electronics, software, new techniques, and documents that
are used to run organisation (Adnan, Nordin and Ali, 2018). In this report the chosen
organisation is Arden University which is a private, profit based teaching university established
in 1990 located in United Kingdom. In this report role of and benefits of Big data technology is
discussed. Apart from that IT security and data privacy factors are covered in this project report.

Identify and discuss in detail Big Data and its role in Arden University. Provide examples of any
two departments
Big Data Technology: Big data technology is referred as the software utility which is
designed and developed to analyse, extract and process the information from complex and large
set of data that is not processed by the traditional software technologies. The respective
technology analysis and evaluate huge real-time data and provide conclusion through simplifies
it as well as predict future to reduce risk factor. In Arden University big data provides various
opportunities to reach to students as well as instruct them in new manner. Some roles of big data
in Arden University are discussed below:
Big data improves students result: The idea of big data within educational sectors improves
overall students results. As the result of students are analysed on the bases of their assignments
and exams as well (Baryshev, Verkhovets and Babina, 2018). So, every student generated unique
data trail, proper analysation of that data on real time cases helps Arden University to gain better
understanding and information about student’s behaviour and facilitates to create effective
learning planning for students. Big data help to monitor student’s actions to give their answers as
well as enables to give instant feedbacks.

Customize programmes: By the help of big data technology Arden University is able to
create customised programme for each student on the bases of their characteristics. In this
respective University it is possible because of Blended learning which is a combination of offline
as well as online learning programmes. This will facilitate the students by providing opportunity
to follow class of their interest.

role in Arden University. The respective University use predictive analytics to collect whole data

section of the business as effectively that will give consumer the guarantee that their source of
information and data is composed, managed, and transmitted safely and effectively. As the data
is essential component for the business of all sizes from the small start-up firm to the world-wide
corporation. Data privacy are the part of the information technology that have the abilities and
the capabilities to identify the orientation of the data in the business to regulate the operations
and functions in the business (Haydn and Ribbens, 2017). It will also consider the measure that
the data is not getting share will another individual in the management with the term of an
international privacy laws of the data protection in the field of the area. As there are various data
security and privacy measures in an organisation by which data can be get secure that are as
follows:
 Establish strong passwords – By establishing the strong and tough password in the
management to set the terms of the section as together in the combination of the capitals,
lower case letters, numbers and symbols to develop the strong password in the
management.
 Set up a firewall – By setting the firewall in the management in respect to protect the
security and privacy in the network in the matter of the firewalls that are an important
initiative to consider the evaluate the term in the business.
 Think of antivirus protection - Antivirus and anti-malware that are the most essential for
protective the source of information and data. As they are planned to stop the manner of

Cellular network: Cellular network is also termed as the mobile network which is a
communication network in that the last link is wireless. The respective network is being
distributed all over the land area that is known as the cells that is served through at least one
fixed location transceivers (Rytsarev, Kirsh and Kupriyanov, 2018). Cellular network provides
high speed as well as high-capacity voice and data communication networks through various
multimedia plate forms. There are number of elements are included in cellular networks that
facilitates it to establishes effective communication as well.
Principle components of cellular network:
Cellular networking play vital role in the improvement and success of business in
effective manner. There are various principles components of respective network that facilitates
business perform organisational activities through virtually mediums. Some components are
discussed below:
Base Transceiver station (BTS): This is the main component of cellular network that
connects all subscribers as well as users to the network. There are various transmissions are used
to get information in effective manner and spread it other relative participants.
Basic station controller (BSC): Basic station controller is an interface between Base
Transceiver stations that is linked with the help of cable or microwaves (Sauli, Cattaneo and van

Mobile Switching Centre (MSC): Mobile Switching Centre is acts as the coordinator of
cellular networks. It is linked with the Basic station controller in order to ensure effective

convey effective communication as well.
Working procedure of cellular network:
Cellular or mobile network follows basis principle of telephony that is relates to the
connecting two or more than two remote users through various networking equipment that are
managed as well operates by the sone specific operators (Soete, 2019). As the mobiles phones
are electronic devices that are used for telecommunication over a specific cellular network
station which is known as cell sites. It facilitates its user by providing effective communication
