This critical review analyzes the effectiveness of telephone intervention in improving diabetes control in the New York City A1c Registry. The study's methodology, findings, and limitations are discussed. The study found that telephone intervention resulted in a significant decrease in A1c levels, but lacked relevant primary data and self-awareness reported by participants. The low-cost intervention has potential for improving glycemic control in low-income populations.
