INTRODUCTIONOver the past Century, it has evaluated that terrorism has been much advanced, fromrandom killings to a number of plans. The word terrorism can be defined as an act of violencewhich as used for fulfilment of unlawful purpose, to intimidate in pursuance of religious orpolitical gain (Rane, Amath and Faris, 2015). In order to prove a specific agenda, terrorist groupstake actions against people to develop terror and fear in them. Generally, such groups have nopersonal agenda for inflicting terror, they just want to keep a control over people or a country.Terrorism can also be characterised as the use of indiscriminate and intentionally violence forcreating terror or fear (Ewart, Pearson and Healy, 2016). This would help in achievement ofpolitical, ideological or religious aim. Therefore, it is considered as the most significant threat fornational security and lives of people. The present essay is going to make an investigation aboutterrorist attack in a country. For this purpose, Brighton Siege Case is taken, that held on 2017 inBrighton, a suburb of Melbourne. To bring awareness about terrorism activities, critical analyseshas been done on law enforcement response, that Australian Police has taken for investigatingthe given case. MAIN BODYTerrorismTerrorism refers to a violence activity which is done in the pursuit of religious or politicalaims, against innocent people(Pathé and et. al., 2015). As per the history of modern terrorism, itbegan with the French revolution and continuously evolving till now. Hereby, the most commonroots or causes that generates terrorism are globalization, civilizations or culture clashes,religious conflicts like Israeli-Palestinian, Islamic-Hindu and more (Irwin, 2015). Along withthis, individual-based reasons or more personal agenda for terrorism includes deprivation,radicalization, social injustice or moral disengagement, frustration, negative identity, narcissisticrage etc. Such situations provoke a person to become terrorists, especially when a certain actioncauses them to adopt radical positions, to reach social or political aims (Walters, Wallin andHartley, 2019). As radicalism is originated from a wide social consensus against someprogressive changes in society so, it leads to persuade a person to support terrorism by joining aterrorist group (Jackson and Hall, 2016). Therefore, to create positive peace in a country, it isessential for a nation to reduce those processes or actions that provoke an individual to become1
