Business Communication Issues Faced by TESCO During Global Pandemic

This article discusses the challenges faced by TESCO in business communication during the global pandemic and how the company responded to those issues. It also provides recommendations based on communication theories to improve communication in a global pandemic. The article emphasizes the importance of using digital tools and visual communication to enhance communication in a remote work environment.

Discussion on issues faced by TESCO and response to those problems done by company. In
addition to these there will be some recommendation to resolve issues using theories on issued
faced on business communication during global pandemic. At last there will be a reflection on
feedback of presentation with issues need to be improved and some suggested action on
improving those issues.

The pandemic has impacted on regular communication skill as less interaction with other so that
people spend more time on Skype, Zoom and other platform. Many employees are performing
the job at home as it may reduce the interaction exclude with their family. The returning to back
will likely be slow process as people move on online platform that make more comfortable in
during pandemic

The theory of communication categorises into cognitive dissonance theory and communication
accommodation theory. The communication accommodation theory is further categorise into
ways: divergence and convergence. In divergence, the individual communicate with group to
strong background and transfer their important identity and in convergence, The individual
transfer powerless style to communication in group (Clevenger, M.R. and MacGregor, C.J.,
2019). In context to Covid19, the communication theory is the most suitable for this report as
this theory is more focus on understanding the information of speaker. In global pandemic,
people face difficulty to physical interact with other as it may increase the chance of
doubtfulness in conservation. (Crovini, C., Schaper, S. and Simoni, L., 2021) This theory helps
to enhance the confidence of speaker as It help to create healthy conversation in pandemic. This
theory is an important for speaker to paying more attention on transferring the information on
email, and use digital different tool. The company's manger observes the feedback of receiver
that make strong relationship among them with the help of communication theory

The companies manage faced challenges to use digital tool as they have lack of knowledge of
different virtual meeting apps and software
. The mangers have faced difficulty in explaining the tasks to their subordinate that essential for
company's operation. (Thakur, R. and Hale, D., 2022) For example, The TESCO have used
ZOOM and Skype for meeting, presentation and interview that help employees to perform the
task in across the global and it help to respective company to reduce the cost and time of the
respective company. (Yang, R. and et. al., 2020) The Tesco has enhanced the quality
communication in digital world that help to manger to presents the data to their employees and
subordinates. The Tesco have moved a head from its competitors as they more rely on digital
communication.

. After global pandemic, the manger has been facing difficulty in communicating with employees
as it declines the effective operational activity so that manger should use communication
accommodation theory that help to transfer the information and data with less dubiety. The
company's effective business activity depends on effective communication so that manger ought
to pay more attention in business meeting and business presentation. The company should use
smart apps such as Skype, Zoom, Flock, Discord, Trello, Chanty and Wire that help to manger to
conduct the interview and select the candidates in multiple countries in very low cost. The
multi-nation company should use communication tool that help the company in decision making
as company's decision involves the opinion of top level manger. The organisation ought to more
emphasis on using of visual communication such as graphs, images, map and charts etc. that to
employees to clear understanding the information.

. Organisations took some action against those issues and come up with solutions to
communicate effectively. In context to COVID19 it becomes global pandemic issues on
everything but organisations faced many challenges. In reference to TESCO, company took
serious action to solve business communication issue and it helped company to be stable in such
situation. At last a suitable recommendation were mentioned that help organisation to solve their
communication problem.

There was engagement with audience as they were listening to me and when I was asking
question they were replying them.. Presentation was informative and educational about global
pandemic and issues faced on business communication it was enlightening to audience they were
mesmerized after seeing my presentation. Peer comments, my peers gave me some feedbacks on
my presentation was very beautiful and attractive as they were enjoying my presentation and

paying attention to details. They said that presentation contained some very informative points
which they were impress to know and get education from presentation. I felt like I was good, my
presentation was informative and educational with attractive. I felt I was good with audience as I
was talking to them properly and connecting to them.
So to improve my body language and delivery I need to focus on body language I need to be
more confident on outer also and standing straight, to improve it I will be need to stand in front
of mirror and practice my speech while doping I need to be concentrate on standing and straight
and be confident on my presentation. To improve my presentation delivery, I need to focus on
communication skill as it will help me on my delivery giving to improve my communication
skill I will join speech giving classes and practice in front of mirror. Body language is important
in giving presentation I need to focus on maintaining good eye contact and holding person and
gaze for few seconds at a time, I need to avoid touching my face and trying to smile while giving
presentation. At last I need to watch some documentaries to learn communicating in positive way
and learn about body poster to improve my body language during presentation and
communication skill.

Practice: The manger has to more practice before delivering the presentation as it improves the
confidence and eliminate the small mistake and doubt and it improve the communication skill.
Attend other presentation: Manger must try to deliver the different type of presentation
to employees that improve the confidence and quality skill of communication. It helps to manger
to understand the audience with different mind-set and enhance the different segments of the
business.
Positive approach: The positive environment in company's meet improve the attention
of audience. The manage must keep smile on his face while delivering the presentation as it
helps to enhance the endorphins environment in business meeting.
Quality of material: The manger has to present useful information in presentation that
help to enhancing the focus on relevant topics and reduce the wasteful time. The manger must
avoid the unnecessary slides in presentation that important for organisational activity.
Body language: The manger must try to eye contact, varied facial expression and good
posture that put manger on the directions of success. The manger has to use polite language in
communication that help to improve the presentation skill in organisation.
