INTRODUCTION
Project management can be described as a practice whereby team is lead in a proper way
in order to accomplish objectives of project within the specified constraints (Picciotto, 2020).
Main purpose of project management is to plan and organise a project in order to complete it
successfully. It majorly involves scanning expected risks, budgeting in a smart manner and
communicating clearly. This project highlights the understanding the justification for the project
of transport for London. It also involves a network diagram and Gantt Chart in order to measure
expected time and critical path. It also highlights an understanding of stakeholder analysis which
helps to understand power and interest of varied persons related with organisation. It also depicts
the structure of work breakdown structure and risk analysis for the given project.
TASK 1
Justification of project and critical analysis of methodology used in project along with the
benefits of methodology in project
This project is related to a music concert where Transport for London has contracted a
team and assign a project (Wu and et.al., 2021). This project is designed to plan the celebrations
for 40th anniversary of Transport For London. This event is funded by Transport For London
which is strategically partnered with university students council. Main objective of this event is
to celebrate 40th anniversary of G&S society as well as unveiling strategic planning of Transport
for London.
Methodology in project management can be explained as a practice or techniques which
is used by managers in working through a proper discipline (Pan and Zhang, 2021). It is chosen
in the basis of flexibility, risk ability and size of team of a given project. In order to plan music
concert for Transport for London, Scrum methodology is used. It is a technique whereby large
tasks are segregated into smaller ones so that that can be performed easily. Scrum methodology
allows viability for each performed tasks and also helps team members in allocating the
resources in a better way.
Scrum methodology is used in projects related to health care, government, banking and
many more. It is used in health care and insurance projects which helps in bifurcating the tasks
such as identification of risks, determining its probabilities and searching ways to minimize
them.

Evaluation of network diagram and Gantt for the music event of Transport of London
i) Network Diagram
A Network Diagram can be described as a visual representation which is illustrated with the help
of boxes and arrows (Filippetto, Lima and Barbosa, 2021). This can be used in event organised
by Transport for London in mapping out the schedule and sequence of the project. It also helps in
tracking the progress of each phase of project starting from its initiation to completion. Network
diagram for the event for Transport for London is as follows:

In order to determine the critical path of above network diagram managers of Transport for
London has worked through the following criteria:
From the above presented network diagram, manager of Transport for London has investigated
critical path which in order to align activities and their time in a proper way. Above mentioned
diagram is prepared through the colouring of blue and orange as provided in Figure 1. From
creating above network diagram, it has been determined that smallest path for doing the specified
activities of presented event is 116 days that makes critical path including points
1→2→4→5→9→10→21→22.
ii) Gantt Chart
Gantt chart can be explained as a management tool which helps managers in illustrating plan for
the specified project (Aanbari and Kwak, 2018). It can be used by project planners in making
assumptions about planning and scheduling differential projects. Gantt chart in relevance to
music concert organised by project planners of Transport for London is as follows:

Stakeholder analysis for the project
Stakeholder analysis can be described as an exercise used by organisations in identifying
the interests and power they have in establishment (Mavi and Standing, 2018). Main purpose of
stakeholder analysis is to identify and fulfilling the needs of their project. It is essential for

organisations to know which shareholder is expecting what from business operations. It has
made progress tracking process of project easy as well as remove multiple hurdles. Stakeholder
analysis in relevance with music concert of Transport for London is as follows:

the whole event and willing to complete it on time. These are considered as internal stakeholders
who are considered as significant and have high power.
High power, low interest- Under this category, those stakeholders came who have high
power and low interest in organisational processes. In context to Transport for London, audience
are taken into consideration. As they have high power in making the concert viable as well as
they have low interest as they just have to attend the concert. These are external stakeholders but
can impact an organisation or audience in an adverse manner.
Low power, high interest- These are those people who are expected to be informed and
checked on a regular basis. These have high interest and low interest in business activities. In
relevance with Transport for London, these stakeholders majorly comprises of employees. As
they only want salaried from organisation and do not have any right in suggesting anything.
These are considered as internal stakeholders for the company.
Low power, low interest- Under this category, those people came who have to keep
informed of business operations. In accordance with Transport for London, these stakeholders
include suppliers which provides materials for organising the music event. These are the
external stakeholders which are needed to keep informed about the business operations.

Work breakdown structure can be described as a management tool which is implemented
in projects by taking step-by-step approach in order to complete big projects while segregating
numerous pieces of tasks (Rodríguez-Rivero and et.al., 2020).. It is helpful for project managers
of Transport for London as it helps in breaking the tasks into smaller units in order to perform
them effectively. Work breakdown structure in relevance with Transport for London is
mentioned below:
Organisational structure in project management is used by managers in aligning tasks
with team members in order to perform effectively. It is significant for managers of Transport for

Determining quality expectation and acceptance criteria of the music concert
Managers of Transport for London has managed to determine their quality exception
through tracking the check list of music concert. Acceptance criteria is based on feedbacks taken
by audience at the end of concert. In order to measure the progress of the event, it is desirable for
managers to use KPIs and benchmarking which is used in order to track the success of project.
Benchmarking can be used by managers of Transport for London as it helps them to track
progress of their event.

an essential task which is undertaken by organisations. Varied methodologies are used by
organisations in tracking their progress in order to make the project successful.
