EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The project management report is prepared on “Project of Transportation” for London
that is acknowledged to Transport for London by Ealing Council to celebrate 40th Anniversary of
G&S society and uncover strategic directions of Tfl. The report defines methodology of project
management, network diagram, gantt chart for event, stakeholders analysis as well as various

INTRODUCTION
Project management refers to the applications of methods, process, knowledge, skills and
experience to accomplish the objective of the project as per the specific plan or time. It helps the
event managers and members to conduct their activities as per give role and responsibility to
achieve the goal on time and efficiently (Anantatmula and Rad, 2018). To define the concept of
project management the selected event is Transportation for London. The event is aimed to
generate funds to undertake road projects to create greener, safe and more attractive streets
across London.
The report covers methodologies for events, network diagrams to outlines path,
stakeholders analysis, work breakdown structures for project, risk analysis and various
controlling measures.
TASK 1
Explaining key methodologies and its benefits
The Transportation for London is a project to develop land and Bollo lane to create more
than 800 new houses in Acton. The project management plan is created for smooth implementing
the purpose of product as well as it organise an event to generate funds and awareness among
peoples about road projects. The objective of event is to raise funds for project in collaboration
with University's student council by organising music concert.
To conduct the functioning of TfL the project manager use critical chain project
management methodology. It is a method to determines strategic points in inserts buffers and
project scheduling to assure that every project milestone is complete on time with project
uncertainties and limited resources (Bergmann and Karwowski, 2018). It is beneficial for
managers to organise an event for TfL because CCMP is used in that projects which required a
large amount of resources to make proper chain for a specific task. By using this methodology
the managers can exploit the limited resources with maximum efficiency.
This methodologies is used in water projects, school projects and bridge projects to make
proper schedule for particular task and assign scare resources as per the requirement. It is
beneficial for TfL project because it helps the managers to deliver cost effective project on time
by considering resources and task dependencies with more efficiency.

TASK 2
Develop a network diagram and Gantt chart
Network diagram
Network diagram is a visual and graphical representation for a project as well as is
combined of a series of attached boxes and arrows to explain the inter-relationship among the
task and activities to determine critical path for the project. Arrows represent the relationship
between the activities and nodes or boxes shows the activity description. The network diagram in
relevance to TfL project are shown below-

To build the above network diagram, project manager of Transport for London used the

As per above presented network diagram for project of Transport for London shows
critical path that is described to a technique to determine tasks essential for accomplishing
working in a project and finding scheduling adaptabilities. Presented above network diagram is
invented with the help of arrows which are coloured in blue and orange in Figure 1 (Delisle,
2019). At same time, it has been discovered that smallest time as per critical path for
accomplishing the working of project is 116 days which involves activities like
1→2→4→5→9→10→21→22.
Gantt chart

Gantt chart is a tool for project management to make graphical representation of a project
against time. It is a bar chart which shows the starting and ending dates of a project. The Gantt
chart in context to TfL project are mentioned below-

Stakeholders analysis and communication strategies
Stakeholders are the individuals who has capital and interest in any project. They
invested their money, time and interest in the functioning of event to achieve goal. The
stakeholder analysis in context to the project of Transportation for London are mentioned below-
The internal stakeholders are mangers, staff members, owners, marketers and workers which
works in the organisation and implementation of event for TfL (Kerzner, 2019).

The external stakeholders are partners, investors, customers, sponsors, government and general
public who has given their time or money in the event for TfL.

As per above matrix, the level of interest and power of external or internal stakeholders
has great influence in the completion as well as organisation of project of TfL are as follows-
High interest with high power- The government have interest with high power in this
project because it directly linked with the safety of public as well as city which create
development for the country.
Low interest with high power-The inverters have low interest but they take high power
because they invested huge amount of money in the project so they have full control on its
working.
High interest with low power- The general public like students or people of London
have great interest with low power because it directly associated with transport and safety of
roads.
Low interest with low power- The staff members have low interest a with low power
due to lack of knowledge and benefits for them (Koke and Moehler, 2019) .
The communication plan
The main motive to communication plan to share information among stakeholders about
budget, purpose and data to organise concert to raise fund for TfL. The project manager make
effective communication plan to identify target audience, sponsors, methods of conducting event
and so on (Lai, Deng and Chang, 2019). It helps the mangers to share right information to the
right stakeholders to accomplish the purpose of event like generate funds with students of
University to finance TfL.

TASK 4
Develop a clear work breakdown structure with organisational structure for music event
Work break down structure is the tool which helps project managers top take step by step
formulation to accomplish the projects with various moving pieces. By dividing the tasks of
project into various steps the project manager of event can integrate cost, scope and deliverables
with team work. The work break down in reference to music concert for TfL are as follows-

Organisational structure
The organisational structure to organise an event is used to identifying the authority and
hierarchy of members included in a particular projects. The project managers use divisional
structure to conduct the functioning of music concert efficiently. The divisional structure defines

responsibility and authority of each member as per their skills or duty during the event of music
for TfL for seem less work. The divisional structure in relevance to Tlf are as follows-

TASK 6
Measures for controlling the event
Quality expectation- The music concert must be understandable to the people as well as
quality of the sound should be of top notch.
Quality specifications- The concert should provide standard musical performance which
can satisfy the audience.
Acceptance criteria- Condition of music equipment and musicians must meet the
acceptation of sponsors, audience and user.
The project manager use benchmark and KPI to measure the performance of workers and
employees so they conduct the functioning of event smoothly by using ranking method to
evaluate the quality of performance of employees and system for organising best event (McLaren
and Loosemore, 2019). They compare performance with plan to improve the quality and
efficiency.
CONCLUSION
As per above presentation, it is concluded that project management is useful for managers
to complete the project on time with given resources. The managers use CCMP methodology as
well as network diagram to outline critical path for project. The project mangers also use
stakeholder analysis, work breakdown structure, risk analysis and control measures to manage
and organise best event for the project.
