1THE AFRICAN ROOTS OF WAR The African Roots of War was written by the African American activist W.E.B. Du Bois who was also an American writer, scholar, activist. Du Bois promoted the African American advancement and he also expected the war to improve the position of the non- white minorities in the country of the United States of America. The author through writings has drawn the attention of the readers to the situation of whether the war happening in the country was important to the part of securing the rights of the African Americans or not. The purpose of this essay is to describe and decide whether the claims that the author has made in the writing is correct or not. In the article, The African Roots of War, the author Du Bois had talked about the problems that are facing by the African Americans in the country of America. The author has argued about the imperialist origins of the First World War and also how the war had led to the origin of the African American slaves in the country. The author argues about the sufferings that are being faced by the African Americans in the country themselves (Du Bois: 2014). Through the author’s article, the readers get to know the fact that the African America used to suffer a lot at the hands of the white people when they were forced to work as slaves in the country of America . From the author’s argument, it can be proved in the essay that the author had protested against the supremacy of the white skinned people in the country itself. As stated by Du Bois (2014), the author has drawn the attention of the audiences to the suffering of the African Americans in the country itself. However, there have been several oppositions to the claims that have been made by the author himself. These experts claim the fact that just because there were Arican Americans in the country, does not mean that the white people were torturing the people into slavery. They were of the opinion that the author has fabricated a lot of things to make the blame of the sufferings to the White skinned Americans.

It helps the author to make his intentions clearly known to the audiences about the history of the of the sufferings faced by the black people in the country (Du Bois: 2014). From the above discussions, it is clear that the author has presented a discussion about the sufferings that the African Americans had faced in the country themselves. The writings inform the readers about the importance of the incident as the chapter that the author talks about forms an important part of the history of the country itself. Therefore, it can be said that the author has successfully drawn the attention of the readers to his writings which describes the sufferings faced by the African Americans in the country itself.
