There are 2 parts to this assignment. A One-Page Presentation Handout Description and the presentation.
Individually choice, students will select a sociocultural group (it doesn't necessary have to be a country) that is prevalent in the world. Using the Purnell Model for Cultural Competence Purnell Model Discussion.pdfPreview the document, students will prepare a presentation highlighting all relevant information from the model. The presentation should address all areas on the model. Students are permitted (and encouraged) to get creative and use other means outside of PowerPoint.
For example, if your cultural group uses alternative health care practices or methods, you may want to create a short video to embed, demonstrating some of the practices (within reason, of course!), or consider using the music from that culture, etc. examples of one page Handout Description the presentation is listed.
