Introduction – Breastfeeding can be described as a normal way of giving nutrients to the
newborn in order to facilitate growth and development. Colostrum can be considered as
yellowish, sticky breast milk produced at the end of pregnancy which is known as perfect food
for infants as it is commended by World Health Organisation (WHO). The contribution of
promoting social and attitude change in relation to breastfeeding is given below.
Overview – This is very important for every infant in respect of gaining effective nutritive
components and efficient antibodies which are helpful to immune system of the baby. It is
observed that breastfeeding should be treated within first hour after birth of the newborn.
However, it has been analysed that the first yellowish milk of mothers after birth is very
essential for newborn in order to make them strong and healthy (Guo and et. al., 2016). It will
prevent the occurrence of several infectious diseases of babies and make them strong to adjust
in external environment after birth. In addition to this, it is necessary for every mother to

breastfeed her child regularly in a manner which has been conveyed by nurses. Meanwhile, it
is observed that many people prefer to avoid the initial milk of mother and waste it but that is
very important as well as beneficial for infant to become strong internally. It is necessary for
care professionals to promote awareness about proper breastfeeding for babies in order to
reduce death rate of newborns and increase health status of them. Moreover, increasing
awareness among citizens is helpful to promote an appropriate breastfeeding which is
favourable for make sure about better heath condition of infants in a country. Furthermore,
experts said that exclusive breastfeeding is mandatory up to 6 months of age and then it can be
continued further along with appropriate complimentary foods up to two years of age or
beyond.
Background – The breastfeeding is required to be socially and culturally promoted by
increasing awareness of its benefits among people living in the nation. It consist the perfect
way of breastfeeding with colostrum in respect of providing nutrients and effective antibodies
to baby which facilitate their appropriate growth and development (Bar, Milanaik and
Adesman, 2016). The present investigation is based on the aim of contribution to social and
cultural change by promoting an atmosphere where breastfeeding can be considered as a
normal way to feed infants. It consist information about beneficial aspects of breastfeeding in
context of improving internal strength of newborns. This study will focus on the concept of
breastfeeding and its relevant benefits for babies. It will also include the effectiveness of staff
training in terms of promoting, protecting and supporting the aspect of breastfeeding because it
is very important for infants growth. It is necessary for organisations to provided efficient
learning and training sessions in order to boost up skills as well as abilities so that they can
convince people to utilise breastfeeding a normal way to feed the baby (Gertosio and et. al.,
2016). The given investigation will evaluate the awareness level of families about significance
of breastfeeding in order to increase their knowledge regarding the same. It is very important
to convince people about the fact that colostrum is mandatory for growth and development of
infants so that they will consider it as normal way of feeding.

Chapters 1: The first chapter of investigation consist overview, background, aims, objectives,
questions and Gantt chart. Initially, the overview is an important part as it provides basic
information about the selected topic of breastfeeding and description about its concepts in
proper way (Tsai and Doan, 2016). However, background consist appropriate discussion about
the specific aim “To contribute to social and cultural change by promoting an environment
where breastfeeding is seen as the normal way to feed infants and young children”. It will
include about research questions and their brief description which gives an idea about what to
be further discussed in the whole in the whole investigation.
Chapter 2: This chapter consist literature review including description about set research
questions with the help of using appropriate sources of information. Initially, it consist the
concept of breastfeeding and its relevant benefits for infants which are effective to improve
internal strength of them and increase efficiency of their immune system. However, it consist
the discussion about effectiveness of staff training in order to promote, protect and support
breastfeeding. Moreover, it also include evaluation of awareness of families about significance
of breastfeeding for improvement. The contribution of promotion social and cultural change in
relation to breastfeeding is given here.
Chapter 3: This consist research methodology that can be explained as a set of appropriate
methods and techniques which is helpful to conducting investigation in correct way. It is
necessary for researcher to select effective methods and procedures which are suitable for
carrying out study on the topic of breastfeeding in order to achieve desired findings.
Meanwhile, it consist use of qualitative research and descriptive research design which is
favourable to conduct study properly.

Chapter 4: The fourth chapter consist the data analysis which refers to procedure that is used
for evaluating information by utilising statistical and analytical tools for discovering useful
data to aid specific research problem. It involves thematic analysis which consist number of
themes in order to interpret accurate findings (Ross-Cowdery and et. al., 2017).
Chapter 5: The last chapter consist the conclusions of overall discussion carried out in research
project including discussion about research questions of given given topic. It include the
utilisation of several methods like qualitative methods, descriptive research and secondary
sources and thematic analysis. However, it also involves summary of findings which has be
gained through conducting data interpretation in appropriate manner. Moreover, this chapter
consist recommendations in relation to the selected aim of an investigation. Furthermore, a
reflective statement is also included with experiences of researcher during conducting the
whole study.

Breastfeeding can be described as a process of feeding for newborns which is very much
effective and suitable in order to facilitate to growth. It consist colostrum that is known as
yellowish and sticky milk which is beneficial for babies for enhancing their immunity to
remain healthy. However, it is necessary for people to prefer breastfeeding as a normal way to
feed their infant because it is a kind of nectar for babies which save them from various
infectious diseases.
Determining effectiveness of staff training to promote, protect and support breastfeeding
The staff training should be effective in terms of increasing skills and abilities which make
them capable to promote the way of breastfeeding among people. It is necessary for them to
promote this methods for feeding infants along with protecting as well as supporting it
properly. Moreover, efficient learning programs should be organised for nursing staff and
other care practitioners to promote breastfeeding among families and convince them to prefer
this method only up to 6 moths of age of the baby (Yang and et. al., 2016).
The evaluation of awareness of families regarding importance of breastfeeding for
improvement
The level of knowledge and awareness of citizens is required to be evaluate is that appropriate
information related to significance of breastfeeding can be provided to them. It is very
important determine about actual views of people about breastfeeding and then decide to
convey accurate knowledge to them. However, it is essential to make them aware about
significance of breastfeeding for health and growth of their newborn.
Examine contribution of promoting social and attitude change in relation to breastfeeding
The promotional events should be conduct by efforts of care professionals in order to make
changes in social norms and attitude of people. It is suitable to make breastfeeding as a normal
way to feed the baby and convey benefits of it for child. Meanwhile, change in attitude is
helpful to promote breastfeeding which is favourable to increase growth as well as
development of infant properly.

Conclusion – From the above discussion, it has been concluded that breastfeeding is very
effective method of feeding newborn. It include to change attitudes of people in order to make
them convinced to utilise breastfeeding only up to 6 months of age which is beneficial for
improving strength of their immune systems.
