2THE CULTURE AROUND TELEVISION VIEWINGTelevision in modern days has become one of the most debatable issues as many ofthe people questions about its impact on the attitudes and the overall psychologicaldevelopment on the youth today. The children now-a-days discovers the world of televisionat their very young age. It is a known fact that television is one of the most effectiveeducation tools. Along with several programs showcasing the scientific theories, wildlife etc,television helps the children to broader their mind and to have a better understandingregarding the world. Television has always been considered as one of the most importantinventions of science and today it has invaded almost all the homes all around the world. However, with the change in technology, many of the devices have evolved and theone among them is television. In earlier days, the actions of television viewing were verylimited (Vandewater et al. 2015). Every TC stations used to take too much of time forprogramming. By the 1960s many of the houses had access to TV but were available withonly three networks that transmitted musical-variety programs, comedies and westerns. Atpresent, the whole world has access to television as well as internet and that too with a widearray of channels to view. The studies have shown that people today are watching the liveshows on television than ever before (Sorensen 2016). Availed with a large number channelsand shows to view, watching television has become one of the most frequent activities thathumans do to pass their time today. With the presence of numerous gadgets and technologiessuch as computers, smart phones and laptops, television still is one of the major sellingproducts in today’s world (Turow 2016). It is very uncommon and rare to see a house todaywhere there is no television. It has acquired an important place in the society. Increasing thereach of television has always been one of the top priorities for the government that hasinvested a lot amount of sum in order to develop the satellite technology (Klomp 2016).
