AI Summary
This report examines the dangers associated with the usage of SUVs, highlighting concerns related to accidents and environmental pollution. The author references studies indicating that SUVs, due to their size and structure, are often involved in more severe accidents compared to smaller vehicles, and contribute significantly to environmental pollution through carbon emissions. The report also discusses the advantages of SUVs, such as their ability to carry large loads, but emphasizes the need for safer designs and regulations to mitigate risks. The author points out the importance of using SUVs for their intended purpose and not for general family use, and suggests that significant changes are needed to make them safer for use on roads. The report also includes references to academic sources that support the arguments made about the safety and environmental impact of SUVs.

The article mainly talks about the dangers associated with the usage of the SUVs. It has
to be noted that in this modern busy life, people are looking for machines that can make their
works easier and faster. Forbes et al., (2017) is off the opinion that the SUVs are often the reason
behind causing huge accidents on the roads. This is mainly because of the large volume and the
structure of the SUVs. Williams, (2016) has also added to this that the SUVs often create
blockages on road and it becomes tough for the pedestrians’ and the other smaller vehicles.
However, it must also be noted in this context that SUVs have been designs for some
good purposes. They are mainly made for easing then loves of people. In other words, they were
designed in order to carry huge loads of goods from one place to the other. Though this is an
advantage for people as it helps them carry their goods, at the same time it acts as a danger as
well. Patton et al., (2016) has also argued that if SUVs are being constructed for the purpose of
making lives easier then it must be made in a properly organized manner. People must not be
harmed or suffering through any accidents.
It must also be noted in this context that apart from the roadside accidents these huge
gigantic vehicles that is the SUVs are also associated with environmental pollution. It has been
seen that SUVs serve as a huge source of carbon dioxide and other such polluting gases. Thus, it
can be said that the SUVs, if not made in an eco-friendly way, are responsible for adding
pollutants to the environment.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that the smaller cars that are
driven by people on road have a huge chance of meeting with fatal accidents. As per the report of
this organization, there is a sharp and concerning is in the rate of accidents created by SUVs in
comparison to other vehicles. The chance is about 28% in the case of SUVs whereas it is 12% in

the case of the other vehicles. However, Kopnina, (2016) has stated that there are some
advantages that might make consumers buy and use SUVs. It is argued that people must be
made aware of the actual uses of the same. SUVs must be used only when people carry some
huge goods from one to the other place.
They must not use SUVs for taking their families' in any outings or fetching their kids
from school or any other such purposes. Semi trucks are also large as they are used for carrying
the loads. People often confuse between SUVs and the wagons. Wagons and other cars can be
used for carrying groceries but SUVs are not made for a similar purpose.
SUVs are too dangerous as no one is on the advantageous side except the driver. SUVs
are too heavy and dangerous to be driven on roads along with normal smaller sized vehicles.
Thus, it is needed that SUVs are designed in a safer way. SUVs can be legalized on the roads,
provided that some serious changes are made.
