This report examines a website developed to address child obesity within the Derby City community in the UK. Child Obesity has been a major problem all over the world. The main reason for this
health issue has been unawareness in the parents. Most of the parents are unaware of the child
obesity in the society. Therefore, awareness among the parents is necessary. This website has
been designed and developed for addressing the child obesity problem in the UK. Derby City
Council is the local government unitary authority for Derby, a city in the East Midlands region of
England. It is composed of 51 Councilors, three for each of the 17 electoral wards of Derby.
Currently there is no overall control of the council, with the Labor Party being the biggest party
(Murphy and Demaio 2018). The council chief executive is Paul Robinson. The Child obesity
wing of the Derby City Community deals with the aspects of health-based services in the field of
childcare. Over the years, we have taken up tons of initiatives to enhance the living conditions of
children in and around the Derby City community.
I have designed and developed this website for maintaining a proper analysis of the child
obesity in the UK. The derby.gov.uk states that the rate of obesity in England has significantly
increased since the 1990s. Now one in three children are overweight or obese, with rates of
obesity increasing as children age. 9.1% of children in Derby begin primary school obese and
this rises to 19.1% of children in Derby being obese when they leave. In Derby, 64.8% of adults
are overweight/obese (Public Health England, 2016). The levels of obesity are concerning
because being overweight and obese is associated with health problems such as diabetes type 2,
heart disease, stroke, hypertension and some cancers. Ultimately, to reverse this obesity trend,
individuals, families and communities need to move more, eat less and consume a healthy,
nutritious diet.
This website has been targeting the parents and children if the UK. There are various
pages included in the website that include Home, Child Obesity, About, Contact and Blog. The

Home page of the website include the gallery section and a quote that might help in motivating
the visitors of the website. The use of the gallery helps in visualizing different aspect of the
obesity among children in the UK. There is a tab related to the child obesity that describes about
the child obesity and the statistics for the children suffering with child obesity in the UK
(Candler et al. 2018). There is an increase in the number of the child obesity according to the
survey done during developing of the website. Data has been collected from various sources
including online journals, books and governmental databases. This qualitative approach have
helped in maintaining the database of the website. The website has been developed using the
wix.com website. This website have helped in maintaining the designing of my website (Markey
2017). The design of the website have focused on the child obesity and health care in the UK.
The derby council is an organization in the U that deals with the health and social care of the
people in the UK. My website have specially targeted the children suffering with obesity in the
society. This issue have been discussed in many research papers from which the data and
information have been collected. This website have a static form of functionality that helps in
minting the focus n the related topic including the child obesity. The static website have helped
in providing a manual effect to the website.
The About section of the website explains about the website and the gradation in a
descriptive manner so that the user can get a brief idea about the website and the company. The
about section have been describing the reason of the child obesity in the UK. Various health-
based institution have been joining with the Derby Council that have helped in providing
awareness about the program and website in an offline mode. The contact section of the website
contains various sections including name, email id, subject ad message box for providing
comment and feedback related to the website and its services. The website has mainly focused

on providing a basic approach to the implications of the child obesity in the UK. The address of
the company with roper helpline number and email id have been provided in the section. The
user can contact with the company and might get expert advice related to the obesity among
children. The blog section of the website contains three blogs related to the child obesity. The
first blog is related to the consequences of the child obesity.
The second blog deals with the graphical analysis of the data and information gathered
from different sources. The third blog deals with the solutions and strategies for mitigating the
issues related to the obesity in the children in the UK. There is a video related to the child
obesity that might help in visualizing the concept and the mitigating strategies for the child
obesity. The third blog has focused on the balanced lifestyle for a human being for a daily
routine. A child might be healthy by following this lifestyle as discussed in the blog. Therefore,
this website have helped in mitigating the issues related to the obesity among the children in the
UK (Hanson, Mullins and Modi 2017). The user can upload their blogs and writings in this
website by simply uploading in the website. The user can also share their feelings on various
social media websites including the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+. This help in
maintaining the traffic to the website. At last, the main aim of the website is ti maintain an
obesity free society in the UK by providing knowledge about eating habits and perfect lifestyle
among the children and adults.
