INTRODUCTION
This study is based on developing manager. Development of workers and managers is
very necessary in present world. This process improved manager skills and behavior which help
to manage the functions and operations of company to reach professional and personal aims or
objectives. It includes the areas such as training, leaderships and development process of
employees. This process is also focused on social and culture development that have large effect
on behavioral, cognitive and environmental skills. TUI is a private limited company with
headquarter in West Sussex, UK, England (Holten, Bøllingtoft, and Wilms, 2015). This
organization provides their best travel and tourism services to people. Firm manage their activity
through good management services handle by manager and other departments. Thus, the project
will evaluate different management style that is use by company for managing their standard,
this will help to give satisfaction to their staff members and customers. Furthermore, it also
discusses about characteristics of leaderships and evaluate communication process for identify
usefulness in process. This report will also asses management skills and performance, and make
career development plan for manger that help to achieve their goals and objectives.
TASK 11.1 Compare different management style
UK travel and tourism sector grow within fast speed by providing good hospitality services
in the organization. British airways and TUI both are offering great quality products and services
to people by developing effectual process of managing their assets. They both follow different
management style in high management of the company’s, for the purpose of developing services
according to trends and requirement of people (Idris, 2014). They both are different in their work
but their aim is same to achieve business objectives and goals of organization. Management style
and theory both describe the process of management like hierarchy of need, active management,
autocratic, action oriented etc.
Management style in TUI Management style in British airways
TUI is the famous and well known
organization in travel and tourism businesses
of UK that offers their best services to
customers. Thus, for managing their
British airways are one of the best and leading
airline service provider industries in UK. It is
second biggest airline in numbers of
customers comparing to easy jet. They give

to this manager need to be directive, they take

performance. TUI follows active management
style, in this style they focused on worker
innovation and motivation (Beattie, and et.al.,
2014). Manager try to give employees happy
and comfortable environment under their
management. In TUI they used four factors
for employee motivation and satisfactions in
their jobs are responsibility, advancement,
achievements and work it. Manager and
leaders play their role by leading employees
and showing the method of doing work with
followers. They provide training to workers
that help them to developed their skills,
knowledge and behavior in organizations
which help them to achieve their professional
and personal aims. Company provide their
services in travel and tourism area where they
need to apply good management process
through train workers, it is very effective
management style. They also collect
information about their staff members and
make their development plans for delivers and
design services.

destinations in all over the world. They faced

economy, it get bankrupt after having loss in

they need at the time of their critical
conditions or situation. According to this style
higher authority controlled their employees by
leaders and mangers at workplace. In
organization employees do their work under
full controlling of managements. Workers

given by their mangers and they need to fulfill
project at any situation or cost. Manger of this
organization use this style by forcing people
for completing their task for achieving
success and business objectives and also make
good brand name in all over the world.
Through using this style of management
manger and leader monitor their workers at
work area regarding doing their projects and
tasks for making business more effective and
progressive.

workplace, they also take their advice in making decisions and give them chance to make
innovation in work process, that helps company to improve business performance and
productivity. 1.2 Discuss leadership characteristics of senior mangers
Leadership is the activity of a person who lead group or team of people in
organization. They manage their employee’s performance through motivation. Leader
Responsibility, excitement and capability to grow up with responsibilities given by company
(Schoar, and Zuo, 2017). There are many styles which help in travel and tourism sector. TUI
leader and manager both are equal in organization for the purpose of management. TUI senior
manager have some leadership characteristics such as:
1. Leadership quality in senior manager: TUI manager have the quality of good leadership.
Manger need to lead their team members and employees within efficient way. They
played their important role in company through managing their worker’s performance
and support them in their task. Being a manger they have a lot of responsibilities in
organization.
2. Communication skills: Manager of TUI has good communication skills that help them to
do their performance at workplace. They need to communicate with their team and group
members for supporting them and make them comfortable at work area in company. This
process helps workers to grow firm productivity and growth of their success.
3. Knowledge: This is a very important part for leader and manager of TUI, because without
any knowledge of management of travel and tourism they cannot manage overall
performance of firm and also does not help in achieving business goals.
4. Time management: Manager of company has also needed to manage their time according
to given task or project of firm. They need to fulfill customer’s needs and demands in
time frame. These processes of time management make effective manger, that can help
firm in making business more progressive than the other organization have.

high performance work through manger supportive behavior and respect.

audience in society about their business and services. This process has two types personal

Organizational culture is depending on worker’s motivation and company behavior. Value,
vision, regulation, language, rules and beliefs explain organization culture. This will impact on
employee’s performance at workplace in TUI. The motive of this company is to spread smile on
the face of their customers and employees through providing great travel and tourism services in
all around the world.
Role culture: TUI follows role culture for employees. Role culture divide people
according to their roles and responsible. Manager and leader of this organization control
everyone according to their job role and responsibility. Role culture and hierarchy culture
are same in process of work in company.

My skills are that I can make strong and good relationship with junior and other staff
members in organization. It will help in my career. Good communication with employees
creates relationship stronger, also with customers that help them to attract towards

2. Decision making skill: I have to create quick and strong decision to apply in business
planning and strategy. For making decision in company, it is very necessary to have
knowledge of every management level and I also know about analyzing other skills and
behavior, that help to make decision quickly. This process grows business productivity
and performance of each management stages.
Motivating: This process is very important in company. I have experience of motivating
employees at workplace through support in performing task or projects. Motivation helps
to increase workers interest in their work by manager. It also increases workers turn over in

and targets to get developed in it. For making improvement in my weaknesses, I have to make
plans, public language is my weakness that might be impact on my career in present and future.
Thus, for improving in this point, I will try to communicate team and group members to
understand different people language. For making experiences in business I will research on
bases of management process and also interact with other people in staff. It will take some time
for improving in these areas, may be around 15 days. Another weakness is my fear as a failure
and nervousness in front of customers at the time of interaction. To get over come in my threats I
take advice of my senior in organization, I make plans and strategy for making business secure in
future environment. It also takes time around 10 days.
Thus, improving all these things it will affect personal and professional growth. It also
helps in achieving business goals and objectives. Good manager can make changes in
organization and create healthy environment at all over the workplace in TUI.
TASK 3 3.1 Lead and motivate team to achieve business goal and objective
Manager main role in TUI is to motivate their employees and give proper direction to
them in their work performance at workplace. They need to build strong team through training
and development sessions to workers. To make success in business world TUI manager lead
their staff members and other people by using some theories that help them to motivate people in

company such as Maslow’s theory, this theory defines self-actualization, social needs, safety
need and self-esteem needs all these needs should be focused by manger. Thus, by focusing on
employee’s requirement business get impact and raise their growth of productivity and services
better than other travel and tourism sector in marketplace.
Employees satisfaction and comfortable at work area is very important for leader and
manger because it effects on business growth and success. Through good leading and
motivation employee create healthy environment that also effect organization objectives
and goals. Motivation encourages staff members to do their work and gain high
performance work in work area. Manger motivate worker through rewards and pay
incentives for their performance in completing their task.3.2 Justify managerial decision
made to support achievement of agreed objectives and goals for recommendations to
improvement
Manager does not take any decision without clarifying. Thus, for this they need to make
proper research and planning need in making decision. Impact of their decision reflected on
every one in TUI as well as their stakeholders. To run the business manager need to take their
final step at workplace by focusing on each and every sector in company. They can make
strategy plans which help them to achieve business goals and objectives. TUI manager give
training and development session as well as coaching to new employees that effect company
growth better than others. To build strong bond with their staff members establish positive
environment this very helpful. Improvement in employees and manger is based on their coaching
and development time decided by higher authority in firm. Workers growth and development
impact on company growth and success in business, it also help in achieving objective and goals
of business world.

My Communication skills are the best way to make my career effective. In travel
and tourism sector it is very good element of doing work properly in company. In
this sector communicate to other people or staff member effect business. This
process attracts customers towards services of TUI. I get interact with many
people within different culture and languages. That make me as a learner of new
and various different things.
Leadership is another important part of this my career function. According to this
process I need to guide employee and support in their projects. It helps to make
