Policy for care 1
Health and social care policy
The quantity of individuals in England who have medical issues requiring both wellbeing and
social consideration is expanding. For instance, it has been projected that in the next few decades
the population with age approximately 85 years or more will be increased by two folds
(Swerling, 2019). The survey reported that there were approximately 1.6 million individuals with
the age of 85 years or more, which will increase to approximately 3 million in the year 2043.
This implies there are probably going to be more individuals with 'complex wellbeing needs' -
more than one medical issue - who require a blend of wellbeing and social consideration
services. However, the current scenario is still struggling in terms of providing and fulfilling the
complex medical need and social care for the elderly. For instance, individuals are sent to a
medical clinic, or they remain in emergency clinic excessively long, when it would have been
much better for them to get care at home. Wellbeing and care staff may overlook or miss the
chances to improve things for patients. Moreover, it has been reported that the money provided
by the government and various agencies which is generally acquired capital from the tax
payment from the common population is not being utilized as viably as could be expected for the
development of society as expected. Therefore frameworks have been implemented for the
development of social and mental health care of individuals and with a special emphasis on the
need of the elderly. The values of the policy primarily designed with the centre idea towards the
care and wellbeing individuals who are taking the service in health care service and the care
home. The policy provides the guidelines describing the ethical behavior and impartial attitude
towards the patient along. In terms of the research and management conducted for the wellbeing
of individual should be more assurance based, and with the confidence of the person who will be
availing the medial service or the person residing in the care home (NHS Health research
authority, 2020).
Mental health policy for children
In a survey conducted by the office of national statistics (ONS) indicated that 3.3 % children in
the UK suffer from anxiety, 0.9 % were suffering from various forms and level of depression,
The percentage of children reported for the behavioral disorder was 5.8, 1.5 % were reported
having hyperkinetic syndrome along with that 0.9 % were reported suffering from “Autism
spectrum disorder”, 0.3 % were reported to have various types of an eating disorder and 0.1 %
were suffering from mutism. The survey also provided the data as per the age demographic for

the children who have carried out some action of self-harm, it was reported that approximately 2
% out of all the children present in the age group of 5 years to 16 years have carried out some
sort of self-harm. The survey also indicated that out if those children about 14 % were suffering
or facing some sort of emotional disorder. The data was contradictory as the earlier was narrative
form parents of the children, however, as per the children reports a total 7 % children have
carried out some form of self- harm and out of that 7 %, it was observed that 28 % of the
children were suffering from a sort of emotional disorder. The report published in (The, Lancet,
2020) indicated that at present approximately 13 % in the age group of 5 years to 19 years were
suffering from some sort of mental disorder. The article also pointed out that the major problem
associated with the children mental health treatment is the longer duration of wait time for the
entry in the treatment plan, which was approximately 53 days in the year of 2018, along with that
it was reported that about eight percent were made to wait for more than twelve weeks. The
major reason associated with it was the massive underfunding for the mental health care for
children, as it was reported that on an average only 4.5 psychiatrists were available over every

a young population, this could be attributed to the fact that approximately 34 % in 2018 were
sent back after the initial assessment. The report published the context of mental health
condition, they suggested a 5-year plan was suggested for national institute health. The report
published by (Parkin & Powell, 2020), indicated that 1 out of the 4 people in the United
Kingdom (UK) is troubled with some sort of mental disorder annually. That indicates although
the UK has a mental health policy for children, it is very important that further improvement in
the same is a must.
The policy against obesity
Obesity is a condition wherein anomalous or unreasonable fat aggregation occurs in the tissues
responsible for the fat storage which ultimately results in the hindrance of the wellbeing of an
individual. The primary reason associated with obesity it the higher intake of energy in the form
of food and less expenditure of the energy in the form of lack of physical activity, the
technicality of obesity includes the higher body mass index (BMI) above 30 in adults. As per the
NHS data 1 out of four adults and one out of every 10 children aged between 10 to 11 years are
suffering from obesity. A report published by (Donnelly, 2019) indicated that approximately 13
million people were classified as obese. The report also indicated that the case of obsess could
