SUBJECT: End of the Year Party
Following the decision made by the management committee regarding our annual party, I wish
to bring to your attention that it will be held on December 17, 2018, at 6:00 pm at St. Catherine’s
hall. The main purpose of the party is to have an opportunity where members of the staff can
interact, share experiences as well as create strong bonds between themselves. As a company, we
shall also have an opportunity to reflect on our performance and think through how we can
improve it going forward. The new members will have an opportunity to interact with the others
something which is not possible during working days due to their tight schedules.
The dinner will be served at 6:30 pm by Jane’s catering followed by brief presentations by the
various departments of our company starting at 8:00 pm. Each department will have half an hour
to present their work plans for the coming year as well as share their achievements for the year
ending. On this light, each head of the department is expected to convene a meeting as soon as
possible to discuss among other things:
 Work plans for the coming year
 Achievements for the year ending
 Staff appraisals and recommendations for promotions
 Proposals on how to better service delivery at Marlin travel

 Proposals on partners we can work with so as to improve our productivity in the coming
year and beyond
After departmental presentations, we shall have a very brief introduction by our partners who are
expected to send a representative. All performances are scheduled to end at around 10:30 pm
after which we shall have an opportunity to enjoy various drinks. In this light, all members of the
staff are requested to share with the welfare committee on the drinks they prefer to enable them
to make prior arrangements and avail them during the party. The party is expected to go till dawn
which is why the welfare committee has invited some artists who will perform throughout the
night.
Being some sort of a dinner party, the mode of dressing is also quite important. The staff welfare
committee unanimously agreed on an official dressing code for the gents as well as the ladies.
The gents are expected to wear as follows:
 A light blue suit
 A white shirt
 A red bow tie
 Brown shoes
 A brown belt
 Black socks
The ladies are expected to wear as follows:
 A light blue dress
 A black blazer
 A brown shoes

Members of the staff are advised to make prior arrangements regarding the dressing code as no
one will be allowed to the venue with a different code of dressing. This is just a kind reminder
that members are expected to comply with the above proposal.
