Introduction
Global environment’, is a critical question in the 2st century. Global environment is actually
the external environment surrounding an individual. It influences business perspectives too. The
external environment includes the technological, geographical, economic status of an
environment. Global pollution affects the atmosphere in terms of population, climatic changes.
Global warming in the 2st century is a serious major of concern. This kind of environment
affects not local or concerned area but globally affecting the environment. This global issue has
resulted in affecting ecological cycle. This is a concern, which has raised the issue of over
population. An environment that affects the entire surround world is called global environment in
Science. The Global environment is at risk with the various problems of over population, scarcity
of food, unemployment, pollution and other related to both national and international.
1.1 Examine the major economic issues in the global environment
Economy of the world and globalization are inter-related with each other. Society has become
aware of the various issues arising from global environment. As the result of this, three policies
have evolved, which are sustainability, equity and efficiency. Sustainability comes into question.
Both environmental degradation an pollution affects the surroundings. The major economic
issues are:
Food security
Growth economically and environmentally
Climatic changes
Unemployment
Economically looking at the issues, what, how, whom and when are the key questions associated
with human beings. Due to an increase in the population, the question of unemployment also
increases. Based on the environment, satisfying the demands of the individual is becoming
tough. Needs are increasing and availability of resources is decreasing, which is causing global
problem worldwide. After the era of the Industrial revolution, the question to satisfy the needs of

the individuals depends on the allocation of resources (Arlt et al., 2011). Which demands are to
be met and which are to be avoided is itself a matter of doubt. Economic crisis suggests that this
products or resources are to be utilized properly. With the proper utilization of resources, if the
products are used full then it increases the standard of living. Growth of a particular country is
based on the standards of living. Increased productivity increases the economic growth.
Economic issues are increasing with the increase in the population. Demand for the food and
employment opportunities are increasing with a decrease in the resources. Global warming has a
major impact on the world population. At the international level, Global Environment Facility
has undertaken measures to protect the economic crisis and the impact of the global
environment. Sustainable environment is also taken care by the GEF (Coles and Hall, 2010).
Unemployment is also an increasing factor resulting for global crisis. Today earth has entered a
phase, where global issues are a matter of concern for each individual.
1.2 Describe the effects of economic issues on countries
Social and environmental problems give rise to economic issues. Social issues like war among
individuals lead to economic crisis. In the countries, global issues is affecting and contributing
to:
Rise of new powers
Global imbalance
Conflict of poverty
Global health crisis
Energy and environmental security
Economic issues are leaving a great impact in the society. Changes in the production, financial
crisis, scarcity of resources have increased the economic crisis largely. It is a common notion
among individual to compare their living styles with others depending on the financial
background. Inequity has been a major concern, which all countries are facing largely. As per
research, globally private wealth has reached $166.5 trillion in the year 2016, with an increase of
5.3% than the previous years (Anne and Young, 2011.).
