Dear: Climate Skeptic,
Human activities always produce greenhouse gases which in most cases result in global
warming. In most cases, climatic deniers tend to believe that change in climate has always been
there and it is normal thus people should not be worried about it. Most deniers lack adequate
information or in some cases, they may have the information but present it in the wrong context
or proof. Global warming politics have really affected by the denial of change in the climate.
The individuals who promote these climatic change denials commonly employ rhetorical
mechanisms to give the appearance of scientific disagreement where there is no none.
It is for a fact that climate has really changed in the history of the earth and we have
techniques of telling what these conditions were before changes occurred. A good technique is
to analyze the ice core content in Greenland and Antarctica. When the snow fell air will be
trapped inside the ice and eventually ending in very tiny bubbles in the ice as seen in the
following diagram;

The global temperature has been changing for a long period of time, and in these changes are
directly proportional to change in the concentration of greenhouse gases like carbon (IV) oxide
in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are those gases that result in an increase in global
temperature (Bailey, 2012). An increase in greenhouse gases results in an increase in the budget
as well as temperature. When the concentration of Carbon (IV) oxide increases the average
global temperature will also increase. From the graph below the changes in global temperature
are recorded from 1000(11th Century) to 2000 (21st century) where the temperature will always
rise with the increase in the concentration of carbon (IV) oxide as an example of greenhouse gas.

Showing the concentration of carbon (IV) oxide and temperature against time

From figure 2 above, it is clear that the concentration of carbon (IV) oxide was lower
until 20th century when we had the industrial revolution in most parts of the world. During this
period a lot of carbon (IV) oxide was produced from industries that increased the general
temperature of the world. This thus gives proof that global warming and climate change are due
to human activity and it does not just occur naturally as some deniers claim. From the graph

there was some slight increase in global temperature before the period of the industrial
revolution, such an increase occurred naturally and it did not occur due to the action of human
activity (Siegfried Fred Singer, 2017). While the abrupt increase which is witnessed from 20th
century is due to human activities.
The increase in temperature before 20th century was due to two reasons which include
long term variation in the sunlight caused by the orbiting of earth and the short term unleashing
of sun dimming ash from larger volcanoes such as Mount Pinatubo (Berger, 2013). Physics
calculates that several warming stems in heat-trapping greenhouse gases are being unleashed by
fossil fuel burning. From scientists analysts like Hausfather Zeke, it is estimated that a hundred
per cent of the current global warming the world has witnessed is due to the activities of the
human being. The global temperature now is at the highest since the recording of the global
temperature begun (as indicated in figure 2 above). So when one talks of today´s climatic change
he means man-made (anthropogenic) climate change. This is the warming of the average
temperature of the earth which is due to the activity of human such as burning of coal, gas, and
oil to generate energy in our transport industry and homes and also due to cutting of trees to
produce the food we consume (The Royal Society, 2014).
The greenhouse gases which are produced by the activities of humans are always found
in the middle of the troposphere and that is why these gases always break the ozone layer
resulting to higher temperatures on earth leading global warming. As seen in the above
explanation, the current abrupt increase in global temperature is due to the activities of human
thus further increase in global temperature can be stopped if a human takes the initiative and
reduce the emission of these greenhouse gases (Leroux, 2011). Thus if human reduces the
emission of these greenhouse gases to the atmosphere then global warming and climatic changes

will be reduced. It is significant for the human to take the initiative of reducing the emission of
these greenhouse gases which leads to global warming to help lower some of the harsh effects of
global warming like drought, increase in ocean acidification, rising of the sea level due to the
melting of mountain snow and the general increase in global temperature.
It is thus very vital to reduce the effect of global warming by reducing the emission of
greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. And the best strategies which human can employ to
mitigate global warming is through adopting the use of the renewable source of energy as
opposed to non-renewable energy like fossils fuels (Letcher, 2010). The government via the
environmentalists should put serious regulations and laws to curb cutting of trees and instead
promotes the planting of many trees. I would thus advise the climate skeptic that as per now the
global warming is fully due to human activities and it is only the human who can help reduce the
effects of global warming (Morano, 2018). The climate skeptic should not just think that the
earth’s climate has changed before due to normal parameters but due to the actions of a human.
The climatic change is real and if we as humans do not stop emitting greenhouse gases then more
of global warming will occur in the future. Our activities will result in serious potential effects
of global warming in the future unless humans adopt renewable sources of energy and plant
more trees and discourage the cutting of more trees.
