Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes of the work experience can be mentioned to be as
follows:
1. It assisted me in understanding what the different roles of the leader are
in the organization.
2. It assisted me in understanding the negative culture and attitude of the
various individuals.
3. It helped to understand about the team culture and development.
What was the situation and what were the challenges?
I was leading a team at the Hull and East Yorkshire teaching hospitals and NHS
trust. In consideration of this, it becomes rather effective to state that I was
involved in ensuring that the department was being able to work accordingly.
In consideration of this, I was also required to ensure that, the negative
attitudes and the various behaviours of the different employees can be kept at
check. In association with this, it is effective to mention that, the different
individuals involved in the team were not willing to cooperate with one another
and in consideration with this; it became very difficult to ensure that the team
goals were being met with. The different challenges which were faced, can be
mentioned to be as follows:
1. Non-cooperation from the different members.
2. Negative culture which prevails in the enterprise.
3. Negative attitudes of the individuals.
What did I do?
In order to increase the overall operational activities and to ensure that,
adequate team building activities are undertaken in order to ensure that,
initiatives can be undertaken so as to see to it that, the team is being able to
perform well. In consideration with this, the activities which I undertook can be
mentioned to be as follows:
1. I planned an outing whereby all the employees were taken out.
2. I ensured that equal participation was encouraged in consideration to all
the employees.
3. I engaged in live sessions with the different employees to ensure that
the communication is clear.
4. The aim of the outing was to see to it that, the negative attitudes of the
individuals was changed and a positive culture could be fostered.
5. The team outing was a successful hit which ensured that, the different
members were able to mitigate their differences and the culture
changed along with the attitude of the individuals as well.
