Summary of the article
The purpose of this article is to generate a fair idea about the collation of the various
dimensions such as moral, ethical and spiritual aspects that contribute and play major parts in the
motivation of the employees at the workplace (Guileen, Ferrero & Hoffman, 2015, p. 804). The
authors endeavor to mention that a proper comprehension of these factors’ contribution in
employee motivation can assist in retaining the sustainability of the business organizations.
Manager’s awareness about the ethical and spiritual dimension related to each human being can
assist in comprehending the motivating factor specific to each employee.
Strengths and Weaknesses
One of the major strengths of this article is that it introduces as well as discusses about
the unconventional as well as neglected aspect of the contribution of the spiritual and the ethical
aspects in motivating the employees at the workplace. The study also presents certain strong
arguments supporting the importance of these dimensions. Another strength is that the authors
have incorporated the view that various forms of ‘spiritual’ motivation contribute in the
motivational factors in the workplace. However, one of the weaknesses of this article is that it
does not endeavor to focus on other aspects related to employee motivation such as
organizational structure and participation. Despite the flaws, the article stands apart for
introducing integral and unconventional ideas related to motivation at the workplace.

Conclusions
The article concludes with the idea that the aspect of employee motivation should
encompass the aspects of ethics, spiritual and moral to achieve completion. The study also
concludes mentioning that it is essential to develop new models and scale to measure the factors
of ethical and spiritual considerations. The authors also strive to conclude that sheer dependence
on the factor of money as a motivational is looking at one side of the picture. Instead, the factors
of love, care as well as spiritual recognition also form an integral part in the motivation at the
workplace.
Relevance
The chosen source is relevant to the field of study of management because it ushers in
new ideas as well as avenues for the employee motivation. The source helps in understanding the
various contributing factors such as spiritual and ethical dimensions in relation to the aspect of
employee motivation. Further, this article serves to broaden the perspective of managers and
students in understanding the various intrinsic areas such as spirituality that needs to be
discussed and taken into consideration while inculcating motivational measures in the workplace.

degree in philosophy and PHD in Applied Economics.
