Digital play is considered as that young children are active users of technologies as well as
digital media content. Moreover, the range of digital play practices afforded to younger children
developing within digital age also incorporates its online participation. In addition this, it also
contributes to acquisition of 21 st century competencies through preparing children for future
roles, forming communication as well as collaboration skills, nurturing creativity as well as
facilitating an opportunity for digital literacy skills. Additionally, technologies are undertaken a
pervasive feature of contemporary life for childrens and adults. However, young children’s
experiences with digital technologies are often the subject of polarised debate among parents,
policy makers, educators and others (Bouzguenda, 2019). Specifically, since the smartphones as
well as tablets advent changed the access to internet and nature of interaction with digital
resources. The aim of this essay is to described about Digital play is not a real play. The topics
which are covered under this essay are development of digital play, along with their benefits.
Moreover, some theories in respect of it is also explained. Apart from this, the future of children
play is also described in this essay.

Digital play for kids has become increasingly more popular, and however, there is little money
owed for kids’ use of these worlds. more youthful youngsters are spending growing quantities of
time online as technology keeps creating big adjustments in social and cultural practices within
the 21st century. several kids ' online interactions may be categorized as playful in nature; but,
play and era are frequently placed as oppositional (Choi, 2019). Digital play may be defined as a
voluntary, energizing interest that consists of using digital technology. This includes sports
associated with video and pc video games, net websites and search engines like google and
yahoo, electronic toys, mobile technology, cell telephones, iPads and tablets, and the advent of
virtual content fabric cloth. Examples of virtual play include a teenage girl spending her time
texting her friends, a 7-365 days-vintage baby gambling Minecraft on their pc, and a 14-365
days-vintage boy playing call of obligation together with his friends on Xbox Live.
