Caesar, Crassus and Pompey: Role in Ancient Rome

 When the city of Rome was founded in 754 BC is
constituted a monarchical form of government
(Nevin).
 The Romans had created a republican
government following the overthrow of the
monarchy.

as one of the greatest civilizations in the

Senate. Crassus used his
possessions in order to provide
financial aid to the Roman

 The pair of the three refitted the political
structure of Rome.
 Such a refurbishment significantly overturned
constitution and expelling 64 senators
 Politically, although Crassus faced defeat against
Pompey following the latter's series of military
actions and victories
 His achievements marked his spectacular
abolition of the Mediterranean pirates in just
three months in addition to the rapid
overpower Mithridates VI in the East.

leading his army, Pompey

on Temple Mount. He has been
accountable for the beginning
of the end of Classical Judaism.
Pompey’s Significant Political
Accomplishments

 Pompey had to play an unreceptive role,
covertly intriguing or waiting for succeeding
occasions to arise that would force them to
accept his leadership.
 According to Coudry, Pompey had been
identified as an incompetent politician, not
from incapability for conspiracy or ruthless
action but from lack of candour and
consistency in speech and action.

 Pompey’s military might, Caesar’s political
authority in addition to their popularity, they
were inevitable in their dominance of Roman
politics.
 The three figures continued to execute
major reforms till the end of their reign.
 The reforms ranged from improving land and
harvest supply to successful reorganization
