How does Character see himself/herself? He is extremely confident and believes strongly in
himself that he can overcome any obstacle no matter how difficult the hurdle is. He
effectively knows that he can overcome any challenge if he faces it with his ultimate
preparation and hard works.
How does Character believe he/she is perceived by others? He is a physically challenged
person therefore he had faced doubts coming from other people though the discouraging
opinions could not stop him from dreaming and achieving his destiny with honesty and
determination.
How self-confident is the character? He is very confident and knows how to stay strong at the
moment of emergency like delivering the winning goal for the school team that lead them to
win the league that had not been won in last ten years by his school.

Does the character seem ruled by his or her feelings? He is entirely driven by his emotions.
Although emotional people seem to be driven by tenderness yet his emotions are strong and
unalterable. Once he decides to achieve something he can go to nay extent to get that. He is

indomitable and unaffected by other’s opinions.
Best Quality: He listens to his heart and follows what his minds tell him to do.
Chief Fault:
How does the character deal with anger? sadness? conflict? change? loss? He has shown to
have practiced hard for the finals of the league and he has been a part of a supporting team
that has collectively made him more confident. He does not lose hope and believes in the
tradition of moving on forever no matter what the result is. He works with confident to get
the best out of him.
What does the character want out of life? He wants to win the wheelchair basketball league
for his school and wants to win for his school.
What would the character like to change in his/her life? He does not want to give the
impression that disable people are not capable of doing something. He wants to show the
world that nothing is impossible for him and his team.
What motivates this character? To bring his school the fame and glory motivates him.
What would most embarrass this character?
What frightens this character? He is not frightened of losing rather he gives a vibe that
expresses how he would try again if he fails.
What makes this character happy? He never loses hope and confidence in himself. He does
not give up hope even after knowing that the team of his school had not won in last ten
years.

his work.

Write a character sketch about the narrator in “Overcoming Obstacles”. Remember to
use adjectives and adverbs to describe your character and his or her actions. Also be
sure to put your character sketch in proper paragraph form.
Your topic sentence could contain three adjectives about the character.

Sentence One:
The narrator of the story Overcoming Obstacles is confident, determined and
hardworking.
Sentence Two:
He is confident because he is sure of his capabilities and no adverse opinion can turn
his confidence down.
Sentence Three:
He is so determined that it is indicated by the way he had exhausted himself for
achieving the target of winning the trophy in wheel chair basket ball for his school.
Sentence Four:
He is hardworking because he could understand that an impossible task of bringing his
school the trophy that had been long lost in last ten years could be only achieved
through hard work and honest effort.
Sentence Five:

He is trying very hard like all other disable students in his school to make something
good out of him because he is confident, determined and hardworking.
