PROPOSAL ON TRAVEL INDUSTRY2Introduction The current section of the study focuses on the study of travel industry particularlyfrom Australia with special emphasis on the research problem, research aims and objectives,scope and limitations of the research. In addition to this, this section also highlights themethodology that can be followed for undertaking the research and elucidates the overallstructure of the dissertation that can be followed for the present study. As rightly mentioned by Athanasopoulos et al. (2014) Australia is presently a netexporter of tourism. As per the latest Tourism Satellite Account issued by the AustraliaBureau of Statistics, the net tourism surplus generated during the year 2006 and 2007 wasregistered to be around $327 million. However, this trend is supposed to change since theTourism Australia anticipates Australia to become a net exporter within the upcoming 10years as travel industry is growing more rapidly than inbound tourism. It has been observedthat tourism industry has been one of the major factors that have an influence on the economyof Australia. The tourism industry depends on the tastes and preferences of the consumers.There are various factors that have an impact on the decision making process of theconsumers. It has been observed that there has been a rise in competition in the outboundtravelling industry and thus a comparison is essential so that the researcher can gain effectiveresults. The outbound travelling industry is dependent on various short term determinants thatrequires to be evaluated so that effective measures can be taken in order to develop theoutbound travelling strategies of the travelling companies. Statement of the problem In essence, travel industry from essentially Australia can be considered to be topicthat is exceptionally under researched.
