Abstract
The Sydney Opera House which is one of the most beautiful architectures of its time is
considered to be one of the blunders in project management in the history of construction. The
main factors of the project management, budget and time, failed due to prioritizing the quality of
construction. In the assignment, the risk analysis of the Sydney Opera House Construction has
been done and probable mitigation techniques have been identified. Those mitigation techniques,
if were considered before, could have prevented the scenario of Project management failure from
occurring.

Introduction:
The Global symbol of Australia, Sydney Opera House, is considered to be one of the finest
tourist attractions of the country. Apart from this reputation of being renowned, it has one more
reputation, that is, a failed project management [6]. It is considered to be one of the most famous
failed cases in the history of construction. Neither the budget nor the timeline was followed
whiles its construction. The constructions commence in the year of 1957 and took about 14 long
years to complete. In this assignment, we will analyze the project management strategy
undertaken by the construction company which led to its failure along with the risk management
strategies which could have prevented this from happening. The stakeholders and their roles are
also described in brief.
