1THEOLOGY AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES
This story is regarded as one of the most enchanting stories of the Bible. In the Scripture,
several stories have appeared and they have attracted the attention of the readers in various ways.
This story takes place in the Scripture of Exodus. Here, Moses gave his Ten Commandments and
helped his men to cross the Red Sea without any difficulty as he controlled the waves through his
miraculous powers. It takes place in Egypt when the people of Israel were trying to escape from
the slavery in Egypt. It always touches the hearts and minds of the readers. This is why this story
is regarded as one of the most compelling stories in the Bible. Moses was a very powerful person
who had the blessings from the God. He rescued the people from the imminent dangers in the
hands of the Egyptian army sent by the Pharaoh. The background tells of the fact that plague
spread in Egypt when the innocent Israelites were caught and kept as slaves by the Pharaoh of
Egypt. Moses’ powers and the blessings of Jehovah helped to rescue these Israelites and get a
new life. The Crossing of Red Sea is definitely a very mind captivating story that shows Jehovah
was the supreme powerful being in this universe. People from Israel were very scared till Moses
rose with the stick with his hand and saved these people from the wrath of the Egyptian army.
Moses showing His powers to rescue the Israelites
Entry One
This story of Moses is quite enchanting and I think it is a perfect example of the victory
of good over the evil. Moses has played a huge role to make the all the human beings believe in
the good side of humanity once again. I believe that a person should always know the fact that
God is always there to protect the human beings. The enemy forces of the Egyptian king could
be interpreted as the Satanic or demonic force that was trying to get better of the followers of
Moses. In this scenario, Moses came up to the scene to have faith in the Almighty God and

believe that He will protect them. This is why this story is always believed as one of the most
crucial stories of the Bible to see the miraculous powers of God. When the Red Sea was opened,
it was a clear indicator of the reflection of the good things they had done in their past. The torture
on those people can be looked upon the torture in hell that good people had to endure.
Afterwards, they got their justice just like in this case. Many people in this time also suffer from
the hopelessness in the society. I would advise them not to lose the hope on the Almighty God.
They should always keep the faith on God and believe they will face the good days in the future.
The history of the story can be looked upon as one of the influential ones as God has
proved His omnipotent power to protect His followers. I myself am an ardent believer in God. I
have also faced some difficult situations in my life. I have never lost my faith in the God. This is
why I think no one should ever lose their faith in the God. This will surely bring joy in one’s life
when he overcomes all the difficulties in their lives. God will avenge all the bad things that have
happened to His followers. In this manner, it is quite normal that all the guilty people will be
punished and good things will always prevail. The heart of the matter is the fact that evil should
not be tolerated at all and justice should always be served, God possesses the absolute power in
the world and He has got all the tools in this world to be strict on those filthy people. Thus, the
Pharaoh of Egypt had been punished and innocent Jews had been saved. Likewise, I have come
out of difficult situations in my life and I am always thankful to God for that.
Entry Two
The plight of the poor Israelites became so bad that it needed a miracle to save them from
their doo/m. There came Moses as their savior. Everybody had a fair amount of belief on Moses
that He would surely do something rto save them from the imminent destruction in the Red Sea.

God knew that these innocent Israelite people were in grave danger. This is why it was the time
to show them what actually God could do. It was very clear from all the perspectives that
Egyptians and Pharaoh was not right at all. The Pharaoh should have some common sense about
the lives of those poor Israelites. As a King, it was always his duty to save all the people. He was
the protector but he acted like a completely irresponsible person. He should not have endangered
the lives of so many Israelite people because it would again put his humanitarian approach in
front of big questions. This irresponsible work was indeed a very problematic thing for the
Egyptian Pharaoh indeed. This way he had jeopardized his own place. God knew exactly what he
will have to do to give punishments to the pharaoh. In this situation, He ordered Moses to act as
he had been ordered. The Israelites believed in Jehovah as the Almighty. Then the Almighty
came in the aid of these people. Moses was very angry at the pharaoh and all the Egyptians as
they chose a cheap way to avenge the people of Israel. Then it was only pertinent that strict
punishments could be given to the Israelites.
Perspective of the power of God and its implementation
Entry One
It was almost a horrible thing that the people were facing. Moses came up as the savior
when he stretched out his hand. No one was even remotely aware about the thing that was going
to happen in the next step. With the stretching out of the hand, the Red Sea was divided. No one
in the world had ever seen this type of thing before. This was the first time this took place.
Everyone was astonished and they did not know what to do next. Then Moses came out and
advised them to be calm. So, they became calm and understood that it was all because of the
omnipotent grace of God. God or Jehovah had managed this for them. They were assured that the

Holy God was in their favor only. So, they were relieved. They began to progress through the
open area in the Red Sea. This area was dry and they began to walk through that area. They also
realized that the Egyptian army was following them. So, they were crossing through the Red Sea
very fast. Moses assured them of having no worries. Soon they crossed the Red Sea very safely
and went to the other side of the river. Now the entire Egyptian army came to the cross the sea
when they did it, they were completely drowned. All of them died. This is how the God
(Jehovah) and Moses took the retribution on the Egyptian soldiers and pharaoh himself.
Here we can see that God’s power and positive will made all the conspiracies go in vain.
God was merciful and He wanted to save all those innocent Egyptian people from their imminent
doom. Moses showed His power through the way he stretched out his hand. Now it was time to
welcome those Jews to their home country. The stick of Moses had some extraordinary and
magical powers. This is why this stick worked as a very powerful medium to save the people of
Israel. The event of the Egyptians being drowned was also a very crucial fact. Many hours were
taken for numerous Israelites to cross the Red Sea since they were crossing with their animals as
well. In this manner, they went off to the other side of the sea. The Egyptians could not see the
Israelites for a long time because of the smoky clouds applied by Jehovah. After so many hours,
Israelites were visible again. They felt that their Egyptian slaves were escaping from their hands
and they had to do something immediately. Then they jumped down into the sea. Thereafter,
Moses again stretched out his stick and covered the Egyptians with the waves of the Red Sea.
Thus the Egyptians had died.

Analysis
Through the development of this story, the powerful character of Moses has been
revealed. He was chosen by the God to save the common Israelite persons to get out of their
slavery. The Scripture of Exodus is thus very much important as the God is shown as the
supreme power holder in the world. The Exodus (13:17-22) has revealed that God never wanted
to lead those Hebrew people through the roads to the Phillistine country although this road was
shorter. God had said that “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to
Egypt”. It was all at the will of the God that these people went to the Red Sea through the desert
road. It hs also been known from this story that Moses took the bone of Joseph with him. It is
because Joseph made the Israelite people to take the oath. Joseph previously told the Israelite
people that “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you
from this place”.
The people of from Israel left the place of Sukkoth and they rested at the camp in Etham.
This place was just on the brink of the desert. The conversation between the God and Moses is
very essential in this scenario. The power of God has been shown in its full force in this story. It
was very crucial to show those Israelite people to show the true power of God because they lost
their faith. They did not anymore believe that God would lead them out from all their problems.
They even said “It would have been better if we had stayed in Egypt and served them”. God
decided to show them His absolute control over this earth by this incident abut crossing the red
sea without any difficulty. In the Exodus, it has been also said that this how of power by God
will help the Israelite people to restore their power in the God.
The time approached for God to show those people to show His power and God
commanded to Moses “Lift up your rod over the sea to divide. Soon there was a path of dry

ground through the sea”. Apart from this, many other miracles have been seen in the different
Scriptures like Genesis, Exodus and others. The killing of the Egyptian troops showed the wrath
of God would one day surely fall on the evil people. When the high walls of the sea caves were
closed, the Egyptian army was dead without anyone being rescued. This was a sure massacre for
the Egyptian forces to be true. As a result of this, Egyptian people also began to be afraid of God
and Moses as well.
They saw their unlimited power and triumph of good over the evil. The hope and truth of
life could be discovered by the narrative of this story. After the destruction of the Egyptian
forces was complete, they praised the God and Moses. As they lost the faith on God, the purpose
of this story was to bring back the lost faith. The song of praise for God and Moses from the
Israelite people was to make them believe in that again. Now, after they had been saved from the
attack of the Egyptian people, they could go to their respective places and worship God again.
The readers also will believe that Lord will save them from problems at anytime if they worship
him loyally and truly. The honesty and love for God is displayed in this paper through various
means in this story.
