Introduction
Spirituality and religion is part and parcel of the daily lives of many people across the globe.
Some people do not consider religious and spiritual issues as prior concern. It can be tricky to
understand the role of spirituality and religion in different organisations for honouring
religious freedom holds a high value in the culture of America. However, the Christian right
plays a supreme role in getting recognition for different organisations in the United States.
Assessing the imbalance of religious understanding in the American culture can help us to
understand the reasons for getting away with the enactment of deleting the religious
expression among the organisations of the US.
Issues of doctor’s assessment
From the provided case study, it has been observed that the nurse is a Native American who
keeps faith in different spiritual issues. After some days of joining working in the mental
hospital, the nurse was facing some panic issues and she admits to the doctors of the
psychiatric hospital that she knows the reasons of her panic issues. She claimed that some
spiritual creature was haunting around the hospital. The nurse remains stern in her claims for
being a firm believer of the Native American cultures.
The doctors of the mental hospital could not make her take any medicines for she refused to
take them. It can be seen that the other care seekers of the hospital also believe in the story
that might have resulted from the nurse herself by spreading the story among other care
seekers. As per the assessment of case study, the doctors told that the nurse is suffering from
paranoid delusions and psychotic breaks.
The doctors have found to be in trouble with the assessment of this particular nurse for she
was not listening to the advices of the doctors. According to the conceptual theories of

Bentall (2018), the care seekers who are suffering from paranoid delusions are needed to be
taken under proper medication besides making them go through numerous sitting of
counselling. In the provided case study, it can be seen that the nurse refused to do so.
It can be found from the provided case study that Jaina is continuously trying to convince the
doctors of the hospital even if they are not listening to her. It impacts her religious beliefs in a
negative way besides making herself stern believing on her own opinions. It can be seen that
she is trying to make the other patients believe in her words so that she might pressurise the
doctors for listening to her opinions about religious beliefs and keep her request.
The issues that are faced by the doctors regarding this nurse can have a huge impact on the
psychiatric hospital. This impact can be considered as a twofold impact. It is aforementioned
that the paranoid delusion care seekers require a certain medication and as the nurse refuses
to take any kind of medication, this can result in her death by a heart attack (Bentall, 2018).
As per the view of Chew et al. (2019), the death of a nurse while being under the surveillance
of doctors can put the reputation of the psychiatric hospital at a risk. There is another grave
impact of this nurse in the organisation that is the other care seekers of the hospital have
started believing in this story of the nurse. As per the view of Austin et al. (2016), this can
generate firmness about the spiritual issue among the other care seekers of the mental hospital
despite the inexistence of such kind of things in reality. This might slow down the curing
process of the care seekers of the hospital and that can damage the reputation of the
organisation.
Pertinent Concerns
According to the provided case study, the doctors of the organisation are not ready to
entertain the spiritual concerns of the nurse under their treatment. The reason behind this
decision is that there is no scientific explanation of Wendigo that the nurse Jaina is claiming
