INTRODUCTION The refrigeration cycles basically refers to the conceptual and the models of the mathematics which are used for heat pumps and the generators. EXPERIMENT OBJECTIVE 1.To learn the basics of the engineering of refrigeration 2.To establish the functional relationship between the components of the thermodynamic processes and the refrigeration system. 3.To develop mathematical approaches for the calculation. PROCEDURE I.The experimental set up was as shown below. II.The flow rate of the cooling water was set to 100cm3/min III.The flow rate of the heating water was also set at 100cm3/min IV.The flow rate of the refrigerant was set to any value V.The temperature at the outlet was set at 60 degrees celcius and marked T6 VI.The system was run until a steady state was achieved. VII.Operating temperatures of T5 and T8 were recorded. VIII.The pressures in the evaporator P1 and the condenser P2 were recorded. IX.The compressor was then turned off X.The experimental unit was turned off at the main switch XI.Finally the water supply was turned off Figure 1: Diagram set up (Groot & Mazur 2013).
