What is Time’s up now?
TIMES’UP now is a women movement/ organization founded on 1st 2018. Its main
agenda and objective for formation was to insist on a safe, dignified and fair work for the less
represented groups and more so the women. Its geared towards addressing the continuous trend
on inequality and injustice that happens mostly in workplaces. Some of the issues that this
campaign movement targets include sexual assault on women and work place inequality and
safety. (Thomson, 2018)
The benefits of the campaign
The movement has helped in enlightening women on their rights. With support from
various stakeholders like lawyers, successful Hollywood actresses and funding agencies, the
movement has been able to create awareness to its target groups on what sexual harassment is,
how to spot instances that can lead to sexual harassment, how to identify the form of sexual
harassment and signs leading to the assault. (TIMES' UP, 2019) Moreover, the campaign has
been able to educate women on hostile working environment that women have been exposed to
initially. Lastly on the benefits, the campaign has sphere headed a way out for those women who
may be victims of any of these challenges. It has done so by pinpointing on what to do incase
these acts happen. Some of these include; speaking to the harasser when being offended, being
keen enough to keep copies of everything they send or even receive from potential harasser and
reporting cases of harassment and mistreatment.
Decreased rate of assault
The TIMES’ UP now campaign was purposely established to end the war on women
assault and work place mistreatment. Since its formation, reports from its management
executives and website indicate that many people, both male and female have joined the
movement. This is an indicator of how the movement has been effective in actualizing its
objectives. According to reports from the organization, for the one year, it can be noted that there
has been reduced cases of women sexual assault, more so in their workplace. This has been so
due to change in the existing status quo where initially, cases on sexual harassments were not
