To understand the concept of globalisation of business
Globalisation includes activities which are important for making business expand at
globalise level. Hence in this case, there is improvement in economic, financial and trade barriers
at international level. According to Trunnis Goggins “Globalisation is the process through which
expansion of business is possible because of emerging trends of economy.” Marks and Spencer

managers are responsible for making changes which is important for making long term existence
in society.
As per view of John Williamson “globalisation of business is happening with rapid speed
with proper and legal rules and regulations.” There is improvement in economic condition of
host as well as foreign country. Africa is the country which has low economic condition, so it is
important for manager to analyse it, so business can achieve aims and objectives. With
globalisation of business, there is improvement in relations among political parties. There are
some changes which are required to made in business operations, so it is easy to operate on
foreign land. As per change in demand of consumers for clothing. Due to globalisation, there is
difference in distribution of income. In international market, there are different sources to collect
funds, so it is responsibility of managers of Marks and Spencer to collect sources which is
important for running business successfully in foreign country.
To determine the influence of globalisation on success of Marks and Spencer
Globalisation is other name of expansion of business which helps to operate in different
parts of world, so there is positive influence on growth and development of Marks and Spencer
in the form of good profits, revenues, etc. This can be possible with the help of different
resources such as employees participation, funds, market analysis, etc. hence it is responsibility
of manager of Marks and Spencer to plan operations in appropriate and relevant manner.
According to Luciana Vecchi, there is requirement of some professionals which helps to perform
operations according to legal laws and regulations. Globalisation of business can be successful
with proper planning and managing operations.
With globalisation of business, not only Marks and Spencer grows in financial terms but
it also gets non monetary benefits such as increment in goodwill, long term relations with
workforce, etc. There is alteration in operations at domestic and international level, for instance:
while operating business at Ghana, managers of Marks and Spencer has to think some marketing
strategies in order to communicate about product and services. Planning for marketing strategy is
not enough, it is important to advertise product according to culture values of regional place.
This helps to provide familiar relations with consumers hence long term sustainability is pssible

To analyse the relationship between globalisation of business and growth of Marks and Spencer
There is positive relation between globalisation and growth of business if Marks and
Spencer perform operations in appropriate manner, then long term sustainability can be achieved.
Globalisation of business can be done with the help of employees, proper knowledge about local
region, funds, machinery, etc. hence proper planning related to these resources must be done to
achieve . It is important and relevant to communicate with workforce, so they are aware about
their roles and responsibilities, accountability, etc. Managers must provide some responsibilities
to work force through which they are able to perform operations in effective and relevant manner
and have knowledge about working style according to external market. According to Hair and et.
al., 2012 “Business operations are related to each other, so with proper communication, it is easy
to deal with changes happening in external environment.” With analysing external factors it is
easy to expand at international level and attain goals and objectives.
Marks and Spencer deals at international level, so there is difference in working style
according to geographical region. For instance: there is difference in cultural values of people
residing in Asian countries as compared to African countries, so this must be kept in mind by
managers of Marks and Spencer. As per change in occasion, stock must be changed. This helps
to make long term relations with customers and sales gets improved. Research and development
departments analysis demand of consumers and then actions take to satisfy their need. This is
important and significant for making long term existence in new market. Hence with proper
analysis and considering external factor business positive results i.e. business growth and
development can be achieved with globalisation of organisation.
METHODOLOGY
In order to conduct research, there is requirement of some tools and techniques which are
important to get positive outcome from this project. There are various activities which has to be
considered while conducting research such as introduction, literature review, setting aims and
objectives, etc. There is requirement of some data which is relevant to get positive outcome i.e.
achieving aims and objectives. There are two approaches for conducting research i.e. quantitative
and qualitative researcher.
Quantitative research- Quantitative research is systematic way of investigation, which
helps to gather information in quantifiable manner. In this technique, data is collected from
existing and potential stakeholders of organisation because they have knowledge about working

style and performance of association. Online surveys, sampling method, questionnaire is the part
of this approach (Hill, 2017). Secondary research method is used under quantitative research.
This is the way to collect information from online sources, books, journals, etc. There are
possibilities that data collected from secondary resource is not relevant and old, so possibilities
of miscommunication are bright.
Qualitative research- Qualitative research is method of collecting data with non-
numerical data. In this research techniques, answer of what as well as why can be received. In
this research, there is use of random sampling which helps to get in- depth knowledge about
relevant topic. In this research technique, researcher also tries to know reason of motivation
behind any reason. Primary data is part of this techniques. Primary method is the way in which
researcher collect data from respondents. This is the way to collect method which provides
relevant and in- depth knowledge about topic.
Apart from this there are others techniques to collect data which helps to give
interpretation on this. Data collection and data analysis are two main aspects which helps to get
actual outcome from research. On the basis of data analysis, knowledge about role of various
departments can be analysed hence aims and objectives of research can be achieved (Hitt,
Ireland and Hoskisson, 2012). There are different techniques such as questionnaire, personal
interview, survey, case study modelling is used to collect data. These are the method in which
personal interaction among respondents and researcher is done, hence number of respondents is
less in these techniques.
In this research, questionnaire is used which is part of primary research. Questionnaire is
set of questions. These questions are related to topic and answered by respondents. While
collecting data with questionnaire there are some issues which arise in collecting data such as
respondents are not willing to revert back, there are some respondents who have language issue
with questions, etc. In this research, set of 10 questions is framed and asked with 50 respondents.
Apart from questionnaire, personal interview can be used which is asked from
respondents by researcher to analyse facts related to research topic. Qualitative analytical
technique is used to collect data in this research.
TIME SCALE
Time scale is the technique which is used in research to bifurcate activities against time.
There are many activities such as introduction, setting aims and objectives, literature review, etc.
