INTRODUCTION
Dementia is a leading cause of morbidity as well as mortality, particularly in western
countries. More than ever, creative non-pharmacological therapies are required to ensure that
maintain the care of patient under supervision. Music therapy is one of most common approach
that help for measuring the actual condition of patient. It is supposed to bring in ethical condition
that have been limited to fairly and under the improvement. By using music therapy, medical
professional is mainly focused on the mental condition of patient where it has developed as
clinically applied the treatment in different healthcare setting. In another way, it is a type of
process which mainly define in both discipline and professions (Melhuish, Grady and Holland,
2019). It may depend on the particular group of people and different culture. In this way,
Dementia is commonly disorder that mainly treated with music therapy. It focused on the
improve communication, behavioural management and memory which facilitating interactive
relation with professionals. Music is the best tool or platform to achieve significant goals and
also measured the result or outcome.
The research is based on the music therapy with focus on the mental health condition of
dementia patient. Therefore, it examine the effect of music therapy on increase in desirable
behaviour such as participation degree in activity and concentration space. It helps for
identifying the reduction of unwanted behaviour of dementia patient such as anxiety, depression
and restlessness through music therapy.

Significance
The significance of research is to involve passive listening of music that provide by
medical practitioners. It help for developing interaction which may select based either on subject
of musical preferences. The research study will help for examining the behavior and
psychological mental health condition of dementia patient. In order to recognize the needs where
provide better treatments of dementia patient across the world. Furthermore, Researcher will
understand the concept of music therapy and gain more knowledge about their positive result or
outcome.
Rationale
The purpose of study is to explore the value of music therapy from perspective of patient
with dementia. The reteach project will identify that how families, nursing staff and music
therapists perceive the effects on the patient with moderate and serve better treatment. In order to
analyse their significant impact that must explore link between the psychological and behavioral
mental condition of dementia patient. Furthermore, research will help for researcher to collect

is based on the process as intervention whereas it help for therapist to promote the health of
client by using music experience. In order to create an effective relationship and develop as
dynamic changes. This type of therapy directly impact on the dementia care by nursing staff.
They can easily utilise the Wide range of music interventions such as listening, singing and

improvising. It emphasis with the music therapist where they are developing an effective
relationship through process. Sometimes, it also compared with the therapy that can utilise
extensively live and become active music technique by professionals. Music interventions are
basically characterized by use of music listening which are implemented by personnel. It can be
determined the positive impact of music intervention on the dementia care which may including
behavioural symptoms, social as well as emotional function. However, it will measure the
evidence of music therapy and medicine interventions in dementia care.
As per Ekra and Dale (2020) Music therapy is a type of non-pharmacological
intervention that may be considered as most effective psychological approach in the long term
improvement. This type of intervention can provide lost cost alternative medicine which easily

people, playing music to relief the frustration level. Music therapy can distract someone which
help for improving physical activities such as exercise, listening music on walk. For instance, it
is further for improving ability of person those are suffering from dementia. It is the best way to

Primary data collection technique is collecting suitable data by using authenticate sources
such as interviews, observations and questionnaires. These are considered the best way to

Secondary data collection is another technique which used by researcher through articles,
journals, newspaper and website. These are different technique to collect relevant information

strong agreeing that musical therapy can be applied on the patient who are facing severe case of
dementia. 5 respondents out of 30 also has provided positive response for the statement. Among
these 30 respondents 2 respondents has provided neutral response and 3 of them has provided
negative response. As per the above data it can be interpreted that all the critical cases of
dementia can be applied with musical therapy to make positive development in the health of
patient without any negative impact on the health of patient.
CONCLUSION
This report is concluding the importance and applicability of musical therapy for the patient
of dementia. In the research report different aims has been designed in order to evaluate the
impact of musical therapy on the people who are facing dementia. Different type of secondary
has been analysed in the literature review in order to gain knowledge about use of musical

nursing people has been selected for the process primary data collection for the topic. For the
data collected in the research process it can be concluded the impact of musical therapy is high
and positive for the people who are suffering from dementia. The data collected in the research
process questionnaire has been used to collect efficient data from group of nursing people.
Various questions has been asked regarding application and impact of musical therapy on the
health condition of the patient of dementia.

RECOMMENDATION
There are different process can be used in the application of musical therapy for the patient
of dementia. There are some improvement in the process of musical therapy in the intervention
program of the dementia patient. From many research it has been evaluated that the response of
the human mind and psychology are majorly affected by music in positive manner. Many
research also has been explaining that how musical therapy can be used by the medical
organization to cure or improve the health condition of people who are suffering from different
health issues. For the mental illness the impact of musical therapy is high positive impact. The
response of the human mind is different for various frequencies of music that are applied in the
musical therapy of dementia (Foster, 2019). There are many researcher are working on the
impact of music on the health condition of people who are suffering from mental illness. There
are certain frequencies of music are there that can be used in the intervention program that is
provided to the patient who are mental illness. Along with nutritious diet music can be used to
recover the damage in the neurons of mind. By this process health condition of the people can be
improved.
REFLECTION
As per discussion, I have experienced about the impact of music therapy on the dementia
patient where evaluating or communicating. I have analysed that music tape into individual’s
sense of itself in relations on the basis of preferences and life events. Sometimes, it goes beyond
idea, belief and assumption of music therapy. As per my experience, I have found that it become
consider as a tool that easily fix behavioural issue or problem. Furthermore, I have focused on
the physiological changes and improve their mental health condition of people. I have
determined that families, therapists and nurse’s staff frequently participate significant role for
providing the better facilities through music stimuli. Furthermore, I have seen that Nursing staff
emphasis on relaxing which directly effects on the dementia patient through music therapy. In
order to measure the importance of music and encouraging client to feel relax, expressed their
own behaviour and attitudes. Sometimes, I have analysed that it become challenging for

professional to prevent the dementia if it reached to last stage. According to my opinion, it is
engaging with mental activities during early stage so that it easily improve cognition, memory
and quality of life. Although it is a type of unrealistic approach that expect much with
improvement in memory, cognitive through care. It seems accessible to patient at different stage
of dementia while stimulating effects and try to improve behaviour of people.
I have found that music therapy is becoming personal choice of every individual person.
In this way, it easily closely linked with personal traits, culture and life events. It help for
recognition the familiar music that support to understand meaningful message for person. I
realize that this type of things useful in last stage where person suffer mental problem.
Furthermore, I have determined the psychosocial factors which always influencing the previous
life event of people. I could identify that medical professional who have acknowledged, still
remember the song from childhood even they can inspire or motivate the individuals. For another
individual, listening cultural music help for devastating the effects of dementia on person. I have
considered the music therapy as one of mental health care intervention for treatment of dementia,
it help for protecting the person and support to redefine identity but it directly emotional impact
of music on the individual people.

I have experienced the music activities in health care which offering great opportunities
for social interaction between individuals, nursing staff members, which has made up positive
effect on the healthcare environment and social psychology. It has strongly influenced by
culture, nursing staff morale. It may occurs when less frequently in the dementia care, lack of
understanding can optimum capabilities of people. I have experience that nursing staff emphasis
that not every one enjoy the music so as requested people to be aware about the preference of
individual. It is still maintain and control the connection between them.
