2. INTRODUCTION There are different types of health related issues that are faced by people. In this context, it is important to make sure that proper services and delivered from the side of health and social care so that patients are able to overcome the problems in effective manner. Further, there are cases in which family members get involved for making decisions for patients when they are not able to take their own decision. There are conditions in which decision are made in behalf of patients when they are not in condition of taking up appropriate decisions. Present research is focused on determining the extent to which involvement of family members in decision making to initiate end of life care. Further, it is also determine to be palliative care in which it is a type of specialized medical care that is provides to people who are in serious illness. This is provided so that relief from the symptoms and stress of serious illness. There are professionals who understand the requirement or the type of issue that are faced by them and appropriate steps are taken so that the rate of health related problem can be solved in effective manner. 2.1 Background Palliative care is generally provided to people who are elderly but there are also young peoplewhoareprovidedwiththistypeofcare.However,itrequirestohaveproper understanding of the health related issues that are faced by each of the patients and appropriate steps are taken in which it includes appropriate plan that help to overcome or reduce the rate of problem. Nurses are closely engaged in end-of-life care procedures and in majority of situations they play a significant part in shaping these processes.Nurses are the Health professionals who speak with patients and gathered all the issues faced by them. Further, they are considered to be the most consistent at homes or in hospitals.Nurses often get requests from people for allowing them to die or who wish to obtain advice on ways to end their suffering.Nurses are often witnesses of life-prolonging treatments that seem to be intrinsically unwarranted, but are struggling with their inability to change anything and often feel that their opinions are overheard in majority of discussions over such type of situations. Nurses are considered to be substitutes as they understand the requirement of patients and have to act in such a way that they will be able to overcome their health-related issues. Further, there are conditions in which no family members are there to support and in such situation, it is the responsibility of nurses to play the part of family member as well. 1
In palliative care, there are a team of professionals involved who work together so that the health related issue can be solved. However, it is important to make sure that there are appropriate communication that take place with each other so that all have effective coordination with each other and proper steps are formed with the help of which the problem can be solved. Further, there are partnership that is required with family members so that all the proper understanding for the type of care that has to be delivered. There are conditions in which during the time of end of life, family members and even the patients have their own preference and needs. In such condition, it is the responsibility of nurses to make sure that they take up appropriate steps so that the rate of problems that are faced by them can be solved and all their requirements are satisfied. 2.2 Rational Main rational of the study is to develop in depth understanding at the time when the patient is near to their death. As this is the stage when there are different type of requirements and need that are conveyed from the side of family members and patients.This research also focus on reflecting on the part that families play in eliminating life care systems. It is important that all the views that are provided from the side by families should be considered properly so that they may not develop negative perception with the mind for the services delivered. Apart from this, process should take into consideration of viewpoints of the person who cares and takes care of the affected. All the decision that is taken by the professional should be consideration with the requirement of the family members. 2.3 Aim and Objectives In order to carry out the research in effective manner, the research topic is divided in to aim and objectives. This is helpful enough to carry out the research in effective manner.
