INTRODUCTION: HYDERABAD
Hyderabad is the largest city in the Telangana state of India. It is situated along banks of
Musi river on Deccan Plateau in South India.
It has dry and tropical wet climate along with plenty of artificial lakes such as 'Hussain
Sagar', 'Himayat sagar' and 'Osman sagar' with an estimate of total 834 ponds and 140
lakes.
The city is promoted as one of the popular tourism destination of the country due to its
aromatic food as well as for the cultural and infrastructural influences of Nizam
monarchy and blend of Turkish, Mughlai and Arabic influence.
The city is famous for its historical events and tourism places along with its vast culture,
traditions and developments.
ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL ASPECT OF DESTINATION
City is known as the largest contributor to GDP of Indian economy and lies among top
ten Indian cities in terms of most productive metro regions of India.
Hyderabad is also known as “City of pearls” due to its famous Golconda diamond which
is exported all over the world.
The cultural arts and music work such as Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi along with North
Indian music and dance, Deccan paintings, patronage of arts by Nizams and Mughals
attracts domestic as well as international tourists.

GOLCONDA FORT
The fort is fortified citadel and is flourished as trade centre of world famous Golconda
diamonds such as pink Daria-i-Noor, Blue hope and colourless Orlov.
The grandeur and architecture are the primary attractions of the fort but the sound and
light show which demonstrate the rich history of destination are also attractive aspects for
encouraging tourism.
The unique charm of this Hyderabad destination is further enhanced by surrounding hills
and barren vast lying landscape.
Fort is also known for magical acoustic system and embedded Rahban cannon, palaces,
factories, secret tunnels, tombs of Islamic architecture, exquisitely carved stones
enhances the beauty of destination and make it one of the popular place for visiting in

HUSSAIN SAGAR
Another famous destination for visiting in Hyderabad is Hussain Sagar. It is heart shaped
lake which was built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah.
The place is fed by Musi river and also have beautiful, huge and monolithic statue of
Gautama Buddha.
Other popular landmarks and tourism attractions near Hussain Sagar includes Patton tank,
Hussain Sagar thermal power station, Birla mandir and Lumbini park and famous
amusement park Snow world. These attractions plays crucial role in enhancing the
attractiveness of the destination.
The site is declared as “Heart of the world” by UNWTO on being the largest heart shaped
mark in the world.
The statue in lake is erected on Gibraltar rock and also separates the Hyderabad city from
its neighborhood.
FALAKNUMA PALACE
The beautiful palace in Hyderabad belonged to Paigah family and later by Nizam of
Hyderabad.
The palace is famous and attractive due to its architecture and was designed by English
architect William Ward Marret.
The walls, furniture as well as ceilings of palace have monogram of Sir Vicar. The
construction of palace with Italian marble along with stained glass windows is an
attractive site and witness great number of tourists.
The shape of palace is of scorpion whose stings are spread out as wings in north
direction. The Nawabi architecture, embedded attractions such as Zenana Mehal, Gol
Bangla and influences of Tudor and Italian architecture has helped destination to help
strong place in tourism destinations of Hyderabad.
CHOWMANHALLA PALACE
Also known as Chowmahallat was known as seat of Asaf Jahi dysnasty and as official
residence of Nizams during their rule.
It is awarded by UNESCO for its cultural heritage conservation, elegance and unique
style.

The destination have two courtyards, Dharbar hall, gardens and fountains. The Neo-
classical construction, Mughal domes, Pesian elements such as ornate stucco work
characterizes the attraction points of the building.
Its past glory, grandeur of rulers and demonstration of their enigmatic living style within
palace contributes as significant factor in promoting the destination as tourism place.
