The tourism sector basically impacts the three main dimensions such as economic, socio-cultural as well as environmental area. The tourism industry positively impacts the economy of country by the improving the standards of living of society members, creating more employment opportunities as well as improved tax revenue of government. However, apart from all these positive, there are some issues in the tourism industry. The lack of accessibility assistance can be still seen as the major problem especially for the women who are pregnant, children, old age people along with person with disabilities related to eye or ear. They face significant problems when travelling due to inaccessible websites, lack of well adapted hotel rooms, inaccessible streets and many more. In addition to this, the discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, creed and colour is also becoming a major problem within tourism sector of UK. This type of issue is serious in UK that can put negative impact on the tourism sector of the country. The essay will describe in first chapter the background data related to how the industry has developed and has become easily accessible to the large number consumers. In addition to this, the essay will also discuss in second chapter the emergence of new market in tourism industry that supports in facilitating the customer needs and increase motivational level to travel more. Moreover, in the third chapter, the essay will give explanation on the impact of tourism industry by giving major attention on equality within tourism sector. Main Body First chapter The tourism sector has improved so much in the recent times. Due to the technological innovations made in the form of digital platforms, the consumers find easy to select the most suitable tourist package for them after undergoing into deep research with the support of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other tool. The outcome of these digital tools has allowed the customers to decide their next tourist destinations in the effective manner by considering factors such as culture, climatic conditions, traditions, hotels, security measures and much more. In addition to this, the customer can also select the cost effective
tourist package by comparing it with different available packages and chose the most suitable one in terms of quality and price. Moreover, the customers now can gain insight about which tourist destination is best by taking care the reviews written by the customers who already experienced their travel journey on that particular destination. Before, the launch of digital platforms, the customers found difficult to reserve their seats due to lots of waiting line which was time consuming as well as tedious(Scheyvens and Hughes, 2019). Thanks to the launch of different ticket booking website, the customers can book and select their favourite tourist destination travelling just by sitting at their home. The customers are now no longer have to wait in lines for booking their tickets and undergo the long process. World Tourism data It can be analysed from the above graph that the tourist arrivals in international countries has increased at the significant rate when compared with 1950 era where there is no access to online booking to the year 2018 I year in which the customers have technology to book tickets just by clicking in ticket booking websites(Beirman, 2020). The tourism and travel industry of UK has allowed the country to improve its GDP level as well as standards of living by providing many job opportunities to its citizens who are involved in the hospitality and tourism sector.
