The term tourism is one of the phenomenon consisting of the social, cultural and economic
factors that influence the motion of the peoples from countries and to the outside places with the
environment for the personal or the professional or the business purpose (Cooper, 2022). The
tourism is influenced by the tourism industry which facilitates the movement of direct goods and
the services for the business operations, and the pleasure activity and leisure activities far from
the environment of the home. Further, report is based on the development of contemporary
tourism and the positive and the negative economic, environmental, and socio-cultural impacts of
the tourism. The report will also be including the future economic and environmental impacts on
the Tourism. Further, report will be discussing about the contemporary tourism and its

the Contemporary Tourism. It is considered for the development of both of the emerging and the
developed economy as an instrumental intend. The contemporary tourism is also an agent for the
environmental and the cultural changes in the society. Tourism is one of the largest industries in
the world. To understand the nature and experience the contemporary tourism many of the
researchers have investing in the system of the tourism (Pencarelli, 2020). The tourism system
includes the consumption, production, and experience generated orientation.
The tourism model in the context of geographical tourism, this model is the advantageous
in determining the tourists flow from different locations all over the world by connecting the
generating region and the destination. The various stages in the travelling experience brought
challenges in studying the behaviours and the motivation of tourism consumers. Although the
thing is crucial to determine the tourism and the consumers of the tourism from the technical

point of the view, the importance of re-examining the tourism from the perspective of temporary
mobility is growing and a important factor of concern. The various modes of the mobility in the
tourism and migration of the individuals is becoming an important part of the study based on the
studies of tourism and also the objective view on the destinations and also for the firms that
pushed forward the tourism in common context. But in the modern world the old barriers based
on the human mobility including the tourism and migration is not effective that much in the
common modern days. This is because of the technological enhancement in the transportation
fields which made the travelling easier and accessible.
Nowadays, Seen in the developed countries the tourism is one of the developed countries'
tourism is becoming the intrinsic part in the lives of the individuals (Assenova, and Vodenska,
2018). The numbers of destination has also increased and the number of organization those are
looking for the individuals to attract over the tourism and those individualistic people who are
mobilized and advanced in the tourism types of commodity that they consume.
However, with the increasing tourism culture there are also the different types of impact
faced by the industry, including the positive and negative impact based on the various factors
economic, environmental, and socio-cultural impacts. Among which some economic impacts are
as stated:
Positive economic impacts:
Foreign exchange earnings: The income in the host country is generated by the tourism
expenditure. The money that the country by the tourism that money country use back to invest in
the development of the economy, but the management of finance differs from place to place in
and around the world. The money earned by some destination is used by them to grow their
tourism industry or some may invest this money for the development of the public services.
Employment generation: employment opportunities have been created by the fast expansion of
the international tourism. The field have generated employment opportunities in so many fields
related to the tourism industry. There are two various types of the employment in the industry:
Direct employment & indirect employment. But in this growing pace of the tourism industry it is
hard enough to calculate the numbers of people associated with the tourism industry.

Negative economic impacts:
Leakage: The major impact that affects the tourism is the leakage in the industry. This situation
of leakage arises when the money invested in the business does not end up there in the country,
this also put limitations on the economic benefits of the host country (Kirillova, 2019). The
ample culprits for this factor of impact is multinational and globally owned organizations.
Infrastructure cost: The cost of implementation on the infrastructural development is the
another negative factor of tourism. This factor causes the great impact on the local government
and the local taxpayers the great deal of concern about the money (Tohmo, 2018). Tourism
makes the government focus on the development of the airports and the roads and other
infrastructure of host country.
The role of the environment in the development of tourism is on the huge basis and the
environment comes ahead as a big success factor for the tourism industry (Sharpley, 2020). But,
there in the tourism industry there are numerous factors that puts the impacts on the environment
which are as stated:
Positive environmental impacts:
Raised awareness: The growing tourism culture in the modern era have been felt the impact on
the tourism by growing awareness towards the environment. Many of the international
destinations are using the ecotourism and sustainable tourism factors that is helping the tourists
and the locals to be aware about the environment. There are many other places like parks and
reserves those are promoting the positivity about the environment.
Needs of environment: The growth factor of the tourism depends on the growth and
sustainability of environment. The success of tourism depends on the environment as it relies on
the environmental factors. The destinations nowadays organizes the operations to keep the
environment clean and green for the tourists. Some destinations have putted the restrictions on
the number of peoples to visit the spots on a particular time.
Negative environmental impacts:
Uncontrolled conventional tourism: The uncontrolled growth in the tourism industry can lead
to many of the environmental impacts as this can pose threats to the use of the natural resources.

This unwanted and extravagant use of the resources can put the pressure on the particular areas
and can cause other various impacts like the increased pollution, natural habitat loss, etc.
Depletion of the natural resources: Tourism development puts the impact on the natural
resources as the tourism industry makes the use of resources in huge amount, and the resources
are already getting scarce. The tourism industry makes use of the water on the huge basis and
this will be resulting in the shortage of water and degradation of the water supplies, by
generating the waste waters in the economy.
With the growing tourism industry it also puts the impact on the socio-cultural in the
countries and the impact on the countries can be resulting in many of the positive and negative
ways, by putting the impact on the industry and environment both. Some impacts in context are
stated below:
Positive socio-cultural impacts of tourism:
Business and employment opportunities: The increase in the number of tourists, shows up the
increase in the number of the commercial activities. This increment in the benefits open ups the
door of opportunities for the individuals of the local countries resulting in the development of the
host country's individuals.
Increased demands for the public goods and services: Goods and services used publicly, like
health, electricity, and kinds of fire services are good. The increasing number of the tourism and
the tourism s open on the mass basis, this will be resulting in the increase in the demand of
publicly used goods and services.
Negative socio-cultural impacts of tourism:
Increase in the social vice: with increase in the tourism and crowds on the tourists places, there
is increment in the crime rates. Over crowding and hooligan activities in the community results
in the higher rates of the social vices like gambling , abuse of drugs and alcohol, prostitution, etc.
Traffic congestion: increasing number of tourist arrivals in the same Items and products would
result in the traffic congestions. The number of motorists will be increasing and it will be jacking
the negative impacts on the localized groups by lowering down the speed and increasing the
vehicular queueing.
