In today's world of technology and advancement people are getting more attracted toward
travel and tourism in order to fulfil their wonder lust by roaming around the world. On of
these locations which people prefer to visit is Malta, a nation surrounded by sea. This is the
factor which attract people to visit Malta for spending their summer vacations at a place
which is full of nature and beaches. The tourism visit in Malta has been increased in last
few year that has also contributed toward improving the economical condition of country
by providing several job opportunities and mediums to open up[ businesses for serving
tourists. This increase in tourism has also encouraged young people to come up with new
or innovative idea for setting up their restaurant in order to serve people who are visiting
Malta and earn money. These business opportunity has increased the competition in
marketplace.
From this analysis I have assumed that tourism has improved infrastructure that encouraged
people to establish their own restaurant business which provide greater profitability to
them. But from this I have analysed that there are number of restaurant which offer only
few of the cuisine dishes but they haven't focuses toward offering core dishes of cuisine. In
addition to this, these cuisines dishes are mainly cooked by the local chef of Malta which
sometimes are not able to provide that taste for which these dishes are famous. Hence, this
is a greater opportunity for “Chuck & Chick restaurant”, as they are planning to setup a
restaurant chain which offer core dishes that are being offered within country to which that
particular cuisine belongs. In addition to this, it has been planned that at initial stage three
restaurant would be setup in which each branch offer a cuisine and interior would be set as
per the culture of that country whose food restaurant is going to offer. For this purpose, I
have performed an investigation in order to collect relevant information in this concerned
topic. For this I have grabbed data from secondary sources such as journals, newspapers,
online articles and surveys previously performed over restaurant. This help in gathering

view point of several authors in context of developing a business plan for themed
restaurant. In addition to this I have also performed feasibility analysis to determines the
viability of project, business model and viability plan with an aim to position a new
restaurant in such competitive environment.
In order to get efficient information I have used both primary as well secondary sources
and further I have performed deductive reasoning for testing the feasibility of business plan
in term of product, industry, market, organisational and financial feasibility which help in
determining the viability and effectiveness of project. The main reason behind adopting
deductive approach is that I have to test as well as challenge the feasibility of my business
plan and to develop an understanding regarding future practices by thoroughly reviewing
the existing data related with restaurant market as well as industry.
The intended reader of my business proposal are government and legislator authority which
provide licence for setting up restaurant at location which are decided by Chuck & Chick
restaurant. This research project provided me with several knowledge, skills and tools that
supported me in improving my problem solving and writing skills. It also support me in
performing feasibility analysis of my project to determine whether Chuck & Chick
restaurant should invest in Malta to setup their business or not.

In this business plan of Chuck & Chick multi-cuisine themed restaurant I have used both
primary and secondary data collection sources for gathering the information related with
my project. In order to collect primary data I have formulated a questionnaire in which
questions would be fill up potential customers regarding the food and benefit which
restaurant is going to offer its customers. Apart from this in secondary method of data
collection I have used online articles which have current and relevant information related
with this restaurant industry of Malta and present competition. These all sources has been
used which enable me to form an opinion regarding the feasibility of project. Apart from
this literature review, I have also applied some theories also in order to justify my research
over this topic. The models or theories applied for research are :

opportunities or threats that are present for a business. It focuses over five basic
forces which have an great influence over the growth and operations performed by
a business. I have applied this model in order to identifying the competition present
in market that may affect the operations performed by Chuck & Chick restaurant in
future. In addition to this it also helped me in determining the bargaining power of
buyer and suppliers so that cost of business can be managed properly.
 Business Canvas Model:- It is a kind of model which represent a detailed
information about the product or services that a company is planning to offer also
with channel and value added features. By applying this model I presented a
pictorial representation regarding the concept over which the business would be
developed. Main reason behind creating this model is to represent the basic
information about the Chuck & Chick restaurant so that it can be presented in front
of stakeholders who are interested in this plan.
These analysis models and literature review helped me up to a great extend in evaluating
the number of threats and opportunities that are present in Malta which may affect my
business plan. In my research I have focused over determining the feasibility of my
business proposal so that I could be able to evaluate the weaker point in my plan if any
present so that it can be rectified before starting work over plan. For this research, first of
all I have implemented Porter's five force model in order to determine the industrial
feasibility for this project. This is one of the most essential part of literature review section
as it helped me in evaluating the competition present in market. In addition to this it also
helped me in determining the potential profitability attractiveness present in industry which
act as an opportunity for the growth and success of this business idea. Apart from this it
also help in determining the barriers that are present in industry for new entrant which
support in formulating effective strategies so that these barriers may not affect the revenue
as well as practices of the restaurant.
Apart from this, I have also used Business canvas model that has supported in determining
the ways through which Chuck & Chick restaurant can create value in front of customers
and how these values can be further converted into revenue. In addition to this, Business

Canvas model is also crucial as it help in attracting the stakeholders to invest in business
idea.

Throughout my whole journey I have identified that this project has help me a lot in
enhancing my skills as well as knowledge regarding business, research and management
skills. From this experience I also came to know that formulating a business plan is not an
easy task because a person has to deeply investigate and study the market along with
factors present in external environment that may affect its performance as well as
sustainability. In addition to this maker is also required to analyse the feasibility on the
bases of several factors such as market, industry, organisation, financial and product or
services. It has been assumed that feasibility has provided me an actual status regarding the
opportunities as well as threats that are present in market from this theme based multi-
cuisine restaurant. Apart from that I have also analysed that there are number of potential
risk which are present in market that may affect the business. Hence must be analysed at
the initial stage of business so that it can be rectified effectively by forming up strategies.
Apart from this the knowledge I have gained from this MBA course help in building up a
strong knowledge rewarding the financial management that supported me in evaluating an
estimated amount which is required at the initial stage of business start up. In addition to
this I have also developed an estimated profit and loss account for the first financial year of
the business which support me in formulating effective strategies that could be used to
minimise the expenses and maximising the benefits. In today's complex and competitive
business environment proper knowledge of finance and its management plays a crucial role

while my MBA, I have identified that in what ways learning has impacted my personal and
professional enhancement. With the help of this research, I will also increase my time
management skill which will help me in completing each activities of project within given
time period. From the different tasks and assignments executed, I am now more better
accoutered to be open minded for some essential ideas and handled to created stronger

challenge, but I tried to develop a various model or framework from some conventional
models within location covered in national context. Via investigation different business
models followed at international level, knowing their benefits and drawbacks of every
model and assessing different academic literature, I decided to bring up with an unique and
new business model which incorporates mainly three critical concepts such as, developing
a model that emphasis on a long term and strong relationship, developing regular clients,
developing an unique model that imitate ‘as an unique service model’ dispersive the costs
complete an lengthy time duration while at the similar time duration giving clients peace of
mind. Al last, developing an essential and effective model that combine the various
strengths of the different strategic partners as well as networks analysed in the research. As
an output, it has alter me to apply all of the existing resources in more effective and
efficient way by overcoming entire costing. From the entire experience and occurrence of
mine, I have analysed that this concept of business will emphatically succeed in Malta

My experience in performing this research was very good as I get a chance to develop
various skills and capabilities which support in future practices. But despite of that I found
various difficulties that have interrupted me in completion of my project within given time
period, but still I have tried to give my 100%. Hence the issues which I have faced through
out my work business development plan for a themed multi-cuisine restaurant is explained
below:
 First issue faced by me throughout this research project is that time assigned to us is
very limited. Hence I have to focuses much over secondary data despite of primary.
This is because it is much easier to collect information through secondary sources
but this was a major barrier as the data is used which is already gathered by some
another persons already that can be outdated or may affect the business plan.
 Another issues that I have faced while conducting this research is that I wouldn't be
able to access local market which is very essential to formulated an effective

business plan that leads to maximum market success. This is because majority of
information is collected through secondary sources and biggest problem with this is
that this data is readily available over several sources which may or may not be
freshly available.
 A major issues faced by me while collecting market as well as industrial
information regarding the existing restaurant is become very difficult for me
because Malta is one of world's smallest country and hence not adequate data is
available over internet. This has taken a lot of my time while gathering right
information on Malta which is very beneficial for me in making an effective
business proposal for Chuck & Chick restaurant.
 Apart from this a major issue faced by me which performing research is related
with the selection of right method of data collection as it is very crucial part of
research that may have direct influence over the success of project. There was a
greatest confusion in front of me regarding whether to select primary or secondary
data collection. This is because primary sources provides fresh data but take more
time and on the other side secondary sources are less time consuming but there is
still remain a doubt that it will not provide authenticate or fresh information.
Therefore in order to overcome this issue I have decided to use both primary as well
as secondary data source for gathering satisfactory information that support me in
achieving positive outcome.

Solve issues creatively and analytically: I have learned to resolve issues, sometimes
analytical tools would be preferred but on other side we required to be innovative.
Motivating workers: In order to improve the performance, abilities how to influence
workers to ensure that workers remain indulge in organisation and perform to the highest
which is very essential.
Maintaining communication and relation effectively: I learned to make businesses more

The main objective of this business development proposal was to present a unique and
innovative plan in order to present a new business concept with Malta. It addition to this
business development plan it further involve a innovative concept, feasibility testing,
formation of business model which support business to create value preposition and also
contribute toward creating revenue stream. So that proper conclusion could be provided for
an innovative and successful business plan to represent my planning regarding the business
operations. In the starting of project I was little bit nervous and confused to regarding this
project. But after the completion of this I am quite confident as my skills as well as
knowledge throughout my MBA program has been enhanced which further support me in
developing my competencies as well as core management skills. Throughout this project
this has been analysed that all of my goal regarding the improvement of my competencies
has been accomplished. There are some work which I have performed throughout my
execution of research that represents development of my competencies. Following points
describe about my implementation of newly gained knowledge:
 I have performed feasibility analyses over my research plan to determine the

soundness of project on the bases of its industry, market, finance, product or
services. This represent my skills of critically evaluating and research analyses
which I have learnt while covering up MBA course that helped me in this project.
 Prepared a financial plan to identify the investment required by restaurant in order
to start up business. In addition to this first year estimated profit and loss statement
has also been produced by me which clearly represent the skills which I have
improved throughout my MBA course which is a sign that I became able to
accomplish my objectives.
 Prepared a business canvas model that describe about the real concept of business
in order to determine the revenue stream through which fund can be flow within
the business. In addition to this I have also learned ways in which value can be

During the evaluation of overall outcome and findings extract from business proposal it has
been identified that the project was very helpful for me as this information is gathered with
the usage of academical knowledge. By performing work over this project I become able
to develop my management as well as business sense that further support me in operating
business in effective manner that also leads to organisational growth and success. Apart
from this I also get to know that there is not any sequential form or strategies that can be
followed by a company to operate its business activities effectively. In addition to this by
performing research I have determined that by implementing methodologies and learning
gained from experiences anyone become able to handle business situations effectively.
Advantages which this business development proposal has provided to me can be better
understood through example:
For setting up business effectively in competitive market I have to collect fresh data related
with the industrial condition present. Due to lack of time availability it is not possible to
gather so much information within such a short span of time. Therefore from my overall
coursework of MBA I have identified that information regarding the competition, market
threats as well as opportunity, product or idea substitution can be gathered secondary

sources by applying porter's five force model which support in gathering all the relevant
information related with industry. In addition to this by collecting information from
tourism survey I would become able to identify the traffic of tourist in country so that
estimation of potential customer can be determine for checking the financial viability of
restaurant business plan in Malta. Apart from that to determine the feasibility of product or
services I have used questionnaire to collect fresh and relevant data as the Chuck & Chick
restaurant is serving and cooking food in totally a new way to determine the views of
