Introduction
In today era, many disaster event and terrorism incident has been drastically affecting the
hospitability and tourism industry. This report wills emphasis on one of the recent incident of
terrorism “2019 Sri Lanka Easter bombings”. This will consist of a policy draft as well as a
validation statement.
Overview
On 21 April 2019, Easter Sunday 3 royal hotels in the capital of Colombo and three churches
in Sri Lanka were directed in a series of the coordinate bomber. As per Sri Lankan
administration officers, all the irresponsibility bombers in the outbreaks were Sri Lankan
individual connected with National Thowheeth Jama'ath, a local aggressive Islamist group by
assumed distant ties, before called for outbreaks in contradiction of Buddhists and Sufis
(BBC News, 2019). For many Sri Lankans, it was very horrific shock to understand that the
local Muslim might be behind the suicide attack that has resulted in the death of 250 or more
people. This has badly resulted in the political, social, economic factors of the country.
Among the dead were Dutch, British, Japanese, American and Portuguese, Chinese tourists
(BBC News, 2019).The Inspector General of Police, Pujith Jayasundara, came under huge
blame succeeding the bombings with the United People's Freedom Alliance directing that he
quit for this entire disappointment to stop the violence. The tourist was lefting the nation just
the day after the attack, with hotels bracing for cancellation. The various restrictions were
imposed such as popular tourist spot was temporarily closed down and all over the world,
nations warned their citizens for traveling to the island
This has drastically affected in the declination of the tourism sector. Tour operators stated
bracing for the cancellation of Sri Lankan tours after happening of the multiple explosions

which killed at least 215 people. The terror attack at the starting of the outbound travel period
will also result in an impact on tourist footfalls for the period of short-term.

Sri Lanka has a rising tourism industry. Since fast freedom from the British in 1947, Sri
Lanka has sustained to attract distant shareholders and tourists to the island. Prior to the
terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka economy in 2019, Sri Lanka was the third main export
earner. Sri Lanka is a progressively popular destination for worldwide tourists. In the year
2013, the lonely planet designated Sri Lanka to be the first destination to visit. In the year
2015, Forbes magazine graded Sri Lanka country among the top 10 calmest nations to visit.
Top globe influencer for example the guardian, lonely planets, roughly guides and the New
York Times mention this country as a topmost site to visit in the year 2016. However, after
the incident of the terrorist attack in the churches, this country shows a fall in the growth of
their tourism sector. As per the data from the consultancy forward keys, shows that the all
over booking and minus the booking cancel on that day meaningfully shows the fallen
instantly after the Easter bomb outbreaks if associated to the same period last year

Critical Analysis of Identified legal and regulatory concerns
Indian intelligence officers cautioned their Sri Lankan colleagues of the outbreak for a few
hours earlier the first bomb was blasted, but the Sri Lankans unsuccessful to take any step.
Information was there but the officers do not take the appropriate steps which could help the
country in minimizing such explosion (Return Graphics, 2019).
