Examples referring to the industry will be discussed to further strengthen the report. FIRST CHAPTER The tourism is accessible to many groups of people and it is important that every person has the access to travel to Italy. Persons with disabilities are provided with facilities like providing assistance and travel kits so that it becomes easy for them to travel without the concern of their disability (Khan and et.al. 2020). Safety is provided to the tourist who are visiting the country. All the unnecessary obstacles are removed that acts as the barriers to travel. Sometimes
its becomes difficult to travel for a person not having knowledge about the county. This is taken care by accessing more tourist destinations (Giambona and et.al. 2018). Some positive developments in the tourism industry of Italy can be creation of jobs, more money in the country. The money derived can be used to protect the natural landscape. Tourism has helped in keeping the local traditions alive and new facilities like new roads have helped the locals of the country. However, the jobs created are sometimes seasonal and because outsiders visit the country, its culture and traditions gets disturbed (Hwang and et.al., 2019). There is more money in the country and this contributes largely to the development of the GDP of the country. Due to pandemic, there have been many changes in the interest of the tourists (Liu and et.al. 2018). Tourism plays an important role in the economy of Italy and millions of visitors have contributed to make Italy a heavily touristed art cities. Because of the heavy growth in the economy with increase in the tourism industry, it is crucial to focus on the impact. The revenues generated by the industry are enough to improve the stability in the country and improving the tourism as a whole. Tourism constituted 162.6 Billion Euros in 2021 and 102.6 Billion Euros in 2020. Moreover, it is expected to rise by 8.7 % to more than 176 billion euros by 2022. According to a sample, 77% of the sample considered Italy an accessible destination (Accessible Tourism,2021). This shows that Italy is a highly accessible destination to visit. Increased tourism have impact on the stakeholders of the industry. Government has to develop the infrastructure to attract more tourists. There are many business that have impacted from increment in the no. of tourist as their revenue increases. The local people often feels that their local traditions and culture is being affected by increasing in the tourism industry. With increase in competition, the rivals feels that there are more substitutes available for the tourist which is a disadvantage for the competitors firms (Guido, 2019). among the consumers (María Martín‐Martín and et.al. 2019). Moreover, tourism industry engages in the event management industry by organizing events like Olympics and F1. This results in more foreign tourists visiting to Italy. Tourism helps in mixing different traditions and cultures and by organizing events can facilitate more tourism in Italy.Experience economy is the one which focus on providing the best memorable experience to tourists. This can help in achieving desired growth in the industry of tourism (Richards, 2018). Travel among the tourists is impacted by new emerging markets as more and more tourists gets attracted and gets interested to visit. Events like Olympics can attract tourists from different countries to visit Italy to attend the event. There are different expectations of the tourist from the host country, and they want to have the best experience by travelling in the country. The country engages with the hospitality industry in which behaviour of tourists depends upon the hospitality services. If the services provided to them are not up to the expectations , it can affect the tourism and further resulting in overall impact on the economy (Domínguez Vila and et.al. 2020). Italy has been considered the best destination to travel and more tourists prefer to visit the country. They feel satisfied and gets pleasure by visiting the place. This can be provided to them by planning a proper trip and avoidance of this can result in dissatisfaction among the tourists. Preferred methods of travel should be the best method like the duration of trips and activities to be done while travelling are to be prepared (Dembovska and et.al. 2021). The country focuses on connecting with the hospitality organization that plan the overall trip for the tourists and provide them with the best experience. The no. of days to visit, the places to be covered, accommodation and food facility are to be planned in a manner that help in achievement of satisfaction among the tourists. Unnecessary hindrances in travel can be a barrier in the growth of the tourism industry which can be a major disadvantage for a long period (Suhel and et.al. 2018). THIRD CHAPTER Tourism industry considers equality important because it plays a major role in the growth of the industry. There are several factors that determine the equality like the equality on the basis of gender, ethics, moral behaviour etc. There should be fair and equal working rights and conditions to the workers working to promote tourism in the country (Ferguson, 2018). They should be given rights to take decisions related to tourism, and they should be provided with the
best working conditions. Working conditions may include health and safety of the employees and good remuneration for their work. Sometimes the payment made to the workers is not up to the satisfaction. This is often in the case of women as they are paid less than compared to the men which is termed as gender pay gap. Women should be treated equally and should be offered equal payment as the men in order to reduce gender discrimination on the basis of payment. Unemployment is another factor that should be considered while discussing on the equality in the tourism industry (Viglia and et.al., 2020). Skilled people should be provided with jobs in the industry and their talent should be respected which further help in development of the industry as a whole. The industry should provide employment to the unemployed population who is best suited for the job. Crimes done in order to hurt the tourists can be a major issue in the tourism industry. These crimes include abuse, kidnapping, rape and other psychological injuries specially to women and children. Development in tourism destinations can be termed as the development in the areas of the places to attract the tourist and to cater the needs of tourists. Sustainability in tourism means sustainable tourism development where tourist needs are fulfilled with sustainable development in the tourism destinations. It is essential for development and sustainability of the destinations. Ethical and moral behaviour of both the tourist and the tourism destination is necessary to maintain sustainability. It is the ethical duty of the organizations that promotes tourism in Italy to provide best experience to the tourists. Also, the tourists and the local people are also responsible for maintaining ethical and moral behaviour (Higgins-Desbiolles and et.al. 2019). Tourism has impacted greatly to the global destination and the society. There are positive and negative impact of tourism. Among the positive impact on global destination are more inflow of money in the country. The destination like Italy can enjoy inflow of money in the country as income increases with increase in tourism. Further this money can be used to maintain the infrastructure and natural beauty of the destination (Giaccio and et.al. 2018). Tourism impacts positively to the society like the local traditions are kept alive as the tourist enjoy the local traditions and improvement in infrastructure also benefits the local people. There are certain negative impact of tourism on the global destinations like there is investment of huge amount of money which can used to develop the local industries. Unemployment is often a negative impact as the jobs are seasonal and are not enough paid. Tourism impacts negatively to
the society as there is change in the culture and traditions as tourists visit the places and over traffic in the places is another reason. The natural environment is damaged by pollution, litter, footpath erosion etc. which affects the local population (Winter and et.al. 2019). These impacts can affect the tourism industry and it is important that the destinationtake various measures to overcome the negative impacts and make tourism destinations a sustainable destination for the tourists. CONCLUSION It has been concluded from the above essay that tourism plays a very important role in Italy. It is essential for Italy to focus majorly on the tourism sector as it helps to generate revenues, reduce unemployment and mix different cultures and traditions among foreign people and citizens. Tourism has contributed largely to gender equality like women are offered with equal opportunities like men, and they are provided with equal decision-making rights. It is important to change the attitude towards greater acceptance of women in the tourism sector. The essay highlighted the accessibility to certain groups of people and its importance in the industry. Each group of people like the common people should be provided with equal power to access to the destination. These can include equal access to resources, technology, control and also visiting to places that provides equal rights to each person. The focus should be on providing the tourist with the best experience possible and pleasure to the tourists. Changes are needed in terms of equality and accessibility in the tourism sector. Women should be provided with equal rights like men, and they should be offered equal payment for the work performed by them. Also, there is need of decision-making power with the women so that they can contribute and suggest any kind of change require in the sector of tourism. Accessibilities should be provided to people like various human rights are available to visit certain places like Italy. These should be given to each class or group of people. The above essay discussed the negative and the positive impact of tourism on the society as more and more tourists visit the place more revenues are generated which are further used for the betterment of the society. Negative impact can be in the form of disruption of the traditions and culture for the local people.
