Introduction
Tourism is a leisure as well as provide the fun activity as it is an act of travel for the
relaxation purpose. Tourism is a type of industry that draws, accommodates and provides
entertainment to tourists. This will assist in generating income for the country. It can be
classified into two parts which include inbound and outbound tourism. Inbound tourism states
that individuals who are resident to our country and come to visit our country. Outbound
tourism refers to the type of tourism where the resident of country travels to another country
(Sehba, 2016). In this report, Virgin Holidays has been taken as it offers the different holiday
packages to the diversified destinations. In task one; the discussion is done on different
tourist destination that assists in income generation. In task two, the examination is done on
different features of destination which assist in explaining the appeal to tourists. In task three,
demonstration of different factors which have an adverse impact on its appeal is to be
presented. In task four, various issues need to be analysed which affect the popularity of
tourist destination is evaluated under the project.

Task 1
Executive Summary
There are different destinations in the world which needs to be improved and this will assist
in generating the income by attracting the more visitors. Virgin Holidays assist in offering the
different holiday packages to the consumers. In this task, the discussion is to be done on
different destinations and generators of the world as well as the generation of income made
under this.
Introduction
In this task, the discussion is to be done on different tourist destinations as well as generators
of the world so that they can increase the number of visitors and on the basis of that income
can be generated. Along with this, evaluation is to be done on the basis of statistics so that
they can determine the trends whether it is current or future which is related to a tourist
destination.

1.1 Analyse main tourist destinations and generators of the world in terms of visitor
numbers and income generation
In the world, an innumerable destination which is having an increment in a figure of visitors
as well as on the basis of that different destinations are able to generate more income. Top 5
destinations include France, United States, Spain, China and Italy. The top destination which
is having high international tourism receipts in the United States that 205.9

France: In France, diversified destinations are there which are famed worldwide. In this
country, employees of Virgin holidays should take care of places and according to the
requirements of the consumer, improvements need to be done which assist in expansion at a
high rate. In the year 2015, revenue was 46USDbn as compared to the previous year (CEIC,
2018).

United States: As per the international tourism receipts, in 2015 it is 2.5.4bn and in
comparison, to 2016 it was 205.9. The international tourist arrival in 2015 was 77.5 and in
2016 it was 75.6.
Spain: Different destination in Spain which help in the development of the economy with the
increase in a number of visitors and on the basis of those visitors spend more amounts and
this will aid in expanding the growth of the economy. As per the tourism receipts
internationally, it has been analysed that in the year 2015, it was 56.5 but a comparison to
2016, it was 60.3 (UNWTO, 2017).
China: This country is also having various destinations. As in China, the tourism sector is
growing on an incessant basis. This will offer the supreme involvement in increasing or
expanding the growth by an increment in the number of visitors. As in China, they are
following good culture as well as having so many heritage monuments so that success can be
attained. According to international tourism receipts, in the year 2015 it was 45 but in
comparison to 2016, it was 44.4 (UNWTO, 2017).

Italy: As per the international tourist arrival, in the year 2015, it was 50.7 and in the year
2016, it was 52.4 (UNWTO, 2017).

1.2 Analyse statistics to determine tourism destination trends and predict future trends
The employees of Virgin Holidays should follow the appropriate trend as this would be
helpful to both the visitors whether it is domestic or international so that visitors can attain
the best experience according to the culture. The main drivers include experience based on
culture, seasonal events or opportunities. They have to use appropriate resources in delivering
better services so that they can attain the best experience. Word of mouth is the main factors
which have an impact on the decision of visitors.

The above graph shows that in the year 2016, the arrivals of visitors is more than 34000000
as comparison done from the year 2015 then the arrival of visitors in the UK is increasing.
This will help in the development of an economy that helps in growth and expansion.
