INTRODUCTION
There are various kinds of destinations around the world, which have been the favourite
spot for tourists and people. These places are most often considered as Favourites of tourists
around the world and are usually most visited by people. In the current report a discussion will
take place on some of the most visited destination within UK and a comparison of the same will
be done with some other similar like tourist destination around the world. As these destinations
changes boundaries and crosses borders, the culture, language, preference and tastes of
individual changes considerably (Pons, 2016). The UK destination that has been taken for the
purpose of making discussion in this report is London Eye . It is a very Unique destination in
London, and any visitor in the city will surely visit this place, because of it popularity among
general people both in UK and outside UK.

A) Analysis of a Tourist Destination around the world with a Tourist Destination of UK
The chosen destination of UK for the purpose of Comparison is London Eye which was
established in March 9, 2000. It is very popular destination for tourists in London and contribute
a lot for generating income for UK tourism department. It is a huge wheel situated right in the
middle of London and gives a proper view of the city to people sitting within the capsules of this
Wheel (Datzira-Masip and Poluzzi, 2014). The construction of this wheel cost around 70 million
Pounds to the government. The destination has around 60 million visitors on a yearly basis and it
is increasing day by day. A person sitting in the wheel can see up to 40 kilometres within the city
from it. The usual prices of Ticket for London Eye is around 20 Pound, which is quite
economical and therefore can be affordable by any individual visiting London for any purpose.

The above figure clearly states the percentage of visitors from different countries within London
Eye. The most has been from Germany. Germany has turned out be the most income generating
as most of the tourists were from this country only.
The comparison of London eye can be made from Ferris Wheel in Las Vegas, USA. It is
also a famous wheel situated in the mid of Las Vegas and give a whole view of the city. It was
created in 2014 and has been seen as a competitor of London eye because of its structure and
design. It cost around 25$ for a ticket, most of the visitors to this spot belongs to native
American countries like Argentina, Mexico etc. Though Las Vegas has various attractive
destination, But Ferris wheel is considered as the most visited because of its uniqueness and
popularity among tourists. The destination has around 20 Million visitors every year (Olmedo
and Mateos, 2015).
The above comparison clearly bend towards London Eye as it is established earlier than
Ferris Wheel and is having more visitors then it. Also, on a popularity scale London Eye wins
the race as it is a global destination and is known among various people around the world.

Most of the visitor (Around 40%) in UK come for the purpose of spending a vacation or a
holiday and around 30% come for any official purpose. In 2017, In London alone around 24
million people visited who were from outside the country. The estimated spending of these
peoples on visits were around 12 billion Pounds. UK, in general has been able to attract people

boosted visitors growth for London Eye. It is estimated that around 60 to 70 million people will
visit London eye this year and thus generate a good source of income for the country as well as
state tourism Department (Lu, and et. al., 2011).
Ferris Wheel, on the other hand is more focused towards attracting people from various
other regions around the world. The number of Visitors is estimated to be 30 million in 2018 and

various aspects which has a direct appeal to the tourist are described as under:
Social Aspect: This consist to be the most essential aspect which has a direct influence on the
appeal of tourists. Tourist sector performs effective role in implementing social equality within
country of its people (Horng and Tsai, 2012). As a most developing sector tourism provides
variety of opportunities to the local as well as outsider people to attaining growth in their career.
