INTRODUCTION
Tourism is a combination of activities and services in which people are travelling from
one place to another for recreation, leisure or business purpose. A resort management is a part of
hospitality and accommodation industry which is used for relaxation and recreation specially for
those who search for holidays and vacations. In this report, St. Michaels has been taken as a
basic resort which is a type of beach resort in UK by Nigel carpenter in 2001 which provides
various facilities like spa, relaxation areas etc. This report covers various types of resorts with its
key features, its issues and challenges of managing them, different types of resort packages and
analysing the needs of customers of specific resort location. This report also covers a business

Michael Resorts, the tourists of the company will be able to enjoy clean beaches and fresh air.
In the long run, the small steps towards sustainability taken by the companies now will
provide high level of benefits to them as well as the local people of the community. It is
important for the companies to make sure that they are willing to adopt sustainable practices
such as reusable towels, less wastage of water as well as food and beverages, smart use of
technology, etc. it is important for the ST Michael to make sure that these sustainable practices
are providing benefits to them as well as to their customers (Thaden, Pogue and Kaye, 2017).
The resorts have high chances to improve their brand image by adopting sustainable
practices as customers are highly supportive of businesses which are sustainable and are
providing eco- friendly products and services to their customers. The company will be able to
enjoy free marketing with the help of sustainable practices and will also have good word of
mouth through customers.
The resort is able to enjoy high reputation in the market as they are providing best in
class services to their customers in a sustainable manner. As ST Michael is adopting sustainable
practices, they will be able to have competitors advantage in the market as people will support
the business which will increase the profitability of the company also the company will be able
to capture market segment (Teece, 2019).
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above report that tourism helps in developing the infrastructure
of the country and makes us aware about beauty and rich cultural heritage of nation. There are
various types of resorts like beach and mountain resort which face various issues related to
environment or fauna and with the help of some challenges people are managing them. Various
operational requirements like housekeeping, front office, maintenance etc. are used by resorts
who face various issues in the resort.
