Towards a Global World

This presentation discusses the concept of a global community and the role of the United Nations Foundation in promoting global cooperation and progress. It explores the purposes and goals of the organization, including promoting the causes of the United Nations, spreading awareness and ideas, and generating business, philanthropy, and media globally. The presentation also highlights the contributions of the United Nations Foundation to the common good, such as addressing climate change, promoting gender equality, and advocating for global health. Additionally, it suggests ways in which individuals can contribute to the common good, such as raising funds for charities, creating awareness programs, and providing resources to those in need.

Purposes and Goals of the Organisation
The purpose of the foundation is to fight, support and
promote the causes of the United Nations and create
national co-operation nation wide thus contributing to
Global Community (Forsythe, Coate & Pease, 2013).
The purposes of the Organisation are-
• Promoting the causes and motto of United Nations.
• Spreading awareness and ideas.
• Strategic alliances.
• Generating business, philanthropy and media,
globally.
• Universal progress through potential action plans.

Contribution to the Common Good
 United Nations Foundation essentially works with the
agendas of United Nations.
 They work in accordance to the Paris Agreement to deal
with the issues of Climate Change and wok to resolve the
political and diplomatic challenges regarding fundamental
global energy.
 They are also working to help and provide the girl children
and women safe and secure world and also focus to work
upon the Sustainable Development goal on gender
equality across all the SDGs.
 One of the work motto of UNF is ‘Healthy families mean a
Healthy community”. Therefore, they work toward
achieving health equity worldwide and also adheres to the
problems regarding early pregnancy amongst the
adolescents and child mortality ("Global Health |
unfoundation.org", 2019).
 The Universal Access Project- Promote, support and collect
funds through partners globally to create awareness and
importance of Family planning and Reproductive health.
Also, to protect the current funding regarding the same
under the current political administration

My Professional Contribution
 Canning, that is, raising funds from the drivers at the
stoplights or at the sidewalks and give it to an active
Charity.
 Create awareness programmes within the school
compound and ask for donation by the school authority
and give that to an established charity.
 Collecting old clothes or unused shoes and old books
from the locality and providing them to a nearby slum
or any charitable organisation.
 Making a small student group and promote awareness
campaigns in a nearby slum area regarding importance
of family planning, child care, girl child education and
health care programmes.
 Becoming a reading tutor, that is, taking classes or
giving out free tuitions to the poor children. Classes will
be in sessions, during the weekends and over holiday
breaks. Teachers and volunteers may work together to
give students an extra boost of confidence and skills.

Introduction
 The term Global Community, basically refers to the
people of the world being connected to each other
through social media and the nations, being
interdependent on each other, socially, politically and
economically.
 It is essentially a multi-ethnic and multicultural system
which is gravely influenced by the world events like war,
environmental and economical changes and the social
media.
 United Nations Foundation, head-quartered in
Washington, D.C. was established in the year 1988 with
the purpose to gain support for United Nations and the
various activities that they are a part of.
