Introduction
The research has been conducted on Human Resource Management. The sub-module
on which a deeper knowledge is being explored is training and development.
Research Question
The research is being conducted on Singapore Airlines, by analyzing and
understanding the impact and the effectiveness of training and development on an
organization’s productivity and on the performance of the employees.
Research Objectives
The main research objectives are to identify the impact and advantages of training and
development on Singapore Airlines. The other objectives are to design and develop an
effective training and development program, which will help Singapore Airlines in
accomplishing their desired goals and gaining more profits for the organization.
Rationale
The research has been conducted by initially understanding the current theories and
practices being conducted in Singapore Airlines. After analyzing its current practices, an
effective business model is implemented, in synchronization with appropriates knowledge of
qualitative and quantitative data techniques. An analysis of the current business
communication practices in Singapore Airlines is performed and the issues identified, is
addressed with the help of diverse business perspectives. This analysis on various different
business aspects of Singapore Airlines helps in designing and applying an effective training
and development plan and also in evaluating its effectiveness, by analyzing the developments
on the key sectors of Singapore Airlines (Hurt, 2015).

Literature Review
According to Aguinis, the training programs that include skills which are interpersonal and
cognitive, are most effective. After that, the skills which are psychomotor, are better for the individual
and group development. Also, the results which are received through meta-analytic reviews should be
given more preference, as they have higher reliability (Aguinis, 2008). These reviews help in gaining
a deeper understanding of the impact and effectiveness of training and development in an
organization’s performance and productivity.
The Singapore Airlines require a set of training which are different for every flight attendants.
The cabin crew has to undergo a set of a training program which includes aircraft safety, managing
the business class and also grooming programs. The employees who have appropriate experience,
have to undergo training to build new skills and gain knowledge about some specific aspects, which
will be beneficial for satisfying customer's, like wine tasting.
