Introduction
A strong leader must be self-assured, have
managerial skills, and be able to communicate
with people (Kelly and Tazbir, 2014). A
successful workplace environment demands the
presence of a great leader who will listen to his
or her coworkers and develop better measures
capable of rescuing the company from any
catastrophe.
Definition of Leadership
Leadership inspires people to reach their full
potential, demonstrates courage in the face of
adversity, supports and guides subordinates to
achieve personal and organizational goals, helps
employees solve competitive business
challenges, and shapes the organization to leave
a lasting legacy.
Importance of Leadership
Leadership is similar to administration,
however, it extends beyond the company's
management. With leadership expertise, good
leadership can handle any company
circumstance (Sadler, 2013).
Contemporary Issue
Contemporary issue can be defined as a issue that has impact on the
people, businesses and place at current time. At the present time, one of the major
issue faced by business organization is Covid-19.
Authentic Leadership
A genuine leader should have
his team of people, each with
their very own set of
objectives, and the authentic
leader should assist them in
accomplishing their goals. A
real leader must be able to
operate and engage in the
same way in public as he
does personally. To get the
most out of his or her
expertise and influence, true
leaders must have two
qualities: transparency and
honesty (MacGregor, 2016).
Analysis
Covid-19 has direct impact on business organization. The situation of lock
down is a hindrance for the company and they are unable to operate in
effective manner. The option of remote working is given to the employees
and they are not able to accept the change.
This has caused demotivation among the employees (Donthu and Gustafsson,
2020). The employees are unable to manage the work and the low morale is
the reason.
The employees need working environment where they are able to complete
the work in proper manner. It is analysed that the demotivation of the
employees is causing impact on the productivity.
The efficiency of the business organization is going down. The company is
unable to manage the remote working.
The major impact that is being faced is related to decrease in sales. The
customers are not stepping out of their houses and that is the reason the direct
impact is on the sales of the company.
Low sales means low profitability. It is one of the major challenge that is
being faced by the business organization at the current time (Amankwah-
Amoah, Khan and Wood 2021)
There is need to accept the new normal and keep the organization safe and
healthy. There is need to bring transformation in the working style of
leadership so that the employees are being given proper direction and they
are able to overcome the situation.
